Local pickup was one of Li Wanyin's preferred ways to trade. She could check the item's condition in person and avoid disputes afterward.
For the vending cart she was buying today, they had agreed to meet near the entrance of a primary school.
Chen Shi'an arrived first with Li Wanyin on his bicycle. They looked all around but saw no sign of the vending cart, or even the seller.
"Isn't the seller here yet?"
"Mm, probably not. We agreed on one thirty, and it's still a little early. I'll call and ask her."
Li Wanyin stayed on the rear seat of Chen Shi'an's bicycle, one hand resting on his waist as she took out her phone with the other and dialed.
Chen Shi'an rode a little farther forward to the electric gate at the school entrance. Together with the cat on his shoulder, he curiously surveyed the campus before them, still closed for the holidays.
A woman's voice came through Li Wanyin's phone.
