Fortunately, the final subject, English, had been relatively easy, and most of the students felt relaxed after finishing it.
Unfortunately, they still had classes for the next two days, with no break after the Monthly Exam. But then again, the next two days were Sports Day, which was practically the same as having a break.
After the exam, the students returned to their classrooms to put their desks and personal belongings back in place.
By the time Lin Meng Qiu returned from her exam room in the Laboratory Building, Chen Shi'an had already put her desk back for her. He was bringing their books back together from the pile at the rear of the classroom.
He held two stacks of books in his arms, piled so high they nearly covered his head. Nothing in his expression suggested they were heavy. He simply reminded the other students as he walked:
"Coming through, coming through."
"Holy shit! Daoist Master, are you doing acrobatics? Carrying that many books at once!"
"Daoist Master, want to practice the 4 × 100 relay in a bit?"
"Sure. Do we still have evening self-study tonight?"
"Of course we do!"
Chen Shi'an carried the two stacks back to their seats. Lin Meng Qiu, who had just entered the classroom, quickened her steps and went over to help take the books from his arms.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome. How did the exam go, Class Monitor?"
"So-so."
"Bombed it again? Everyone was saying English wasn't that hard this time."
"How did yours go?"
"So-so."
Lin Meng Qiu rolled her eyes at him.
Other than English, all the subjects had been harder this time, especially math-even she had found it difficult.
