All of that day's classes were spent going over the midterm exam papers.
After Old Liang and Teacher Ye had their fun, it was now Teacher Zhang and the Science Comprehensive teachers' turn.
For Old Liang, Teacher Ye, and Teacher Zhang, it was pure enjoyment. After all, Chen Shi'an had ranked first in the year in all three main subjects.
The science teachers had a little less to enjoy. Although Chen Shi'an's total Science Comprehensive score tied with Lin Meng Qiu's for first in the year, he hadn't placed first in any individual subject.
Science Comprehensive was a curious subject. Plenty of people could come first in one science, but coming first in two was twice as hard. As for coming first in all three, at least for now, nobody in Class Five could manage it. Even Lin Meng Qiu only occasionally came first in a single science, but with all three scores combined, she was quite a contender.
To take first place, you basically needed full marks in that individual subject. The three Science Comprehensive subjects were also where students with wildly uneven strengths ran most rampant.
Sometimes, the top scorer in an individual Science Comprehensive subject wasn't even in Class Five, but in one of the lower-ranked advanced classes-
Some people had one plank in their barrel that was absurdly long. As for their short planks-best not mentioned.
Of course, considering Chen Shi'an had only started studying Science Comprehensive last month, scoring over two hundred and eighty across the three subjects, on a particularly difficult paper at that, had already left the Science Comprehensive teachers dumbfounded.
Especially the physics teacher, who still remembered Chen Shi'an scoring just four points last time-out of a hundred. This time, he'd shot up to ninety-four. What more could anyone ask for?
