After all, it was only a musical performance. After two rehearsals, Chen Shi'an felt they were more or less ready, but the two girls insisted on perfection and still weren't satisfied. Neither seemed willing to stop until she had outdone the other.
On the way to school and on the way home, Wen Zhixia kept dragging Chen Shi'an into practicing with her.
When he went to Lin Meng Qiu's house for dinner on Saturday evening, she also insisted on practicing with him until past nine before letting him go home.
The Principal spent the entire evening working in his study, not even daring to venture into the living room for fear that turning a page too loudly would disturb their rehearsal...
The girls didn't spare even their rare Sunday off after the monthly exam. They called up Yao Jingyan, He Yeye, Shen Yatong, Qiu Yufu, and Xu Zihan and went over to Chen Shi'an's house to rehearse their skit, "A Classroom Thirty Years Through Time."
Perhaps that was youth...
Energy for everything except studying.
Knowing everyone was coming over to visit-rehearse-today, Chen Shi'an hadn't gone out cycling. He stayed home making incense and wood carvings.
Li Wanyin, on the other hand, seemed quite excited. Hearing Shi'an say so many classmates were coming over, she had even made a special trip to the supermarket to buy plenty of fruit, snacks, and drinks.
"You bought so much, Sister Wanyin."
"It's not often we have so many classmates visiting. I bought it for everyone to eat."
"Thanks, Sister Wanyin."
"Shi'an, will Zhizhi, Meng Qiu, and the others be staying for dinner this afternoon?"
"Probably not. With so many people, we wouldn't really have enough bowls and chopsticks.
