"Shi'an."
"Sister Wanyin, why did you come out?"
Seeing Li Wanyin hurrying to meet him, already at the village road outside her house, Chen Shi'an gently squeezed the brakes, and his bicycle rolled smoothly to a stop in front of her.
"Haha... I saw you from a distance, so I came out. I was afraid you'd take a wrong turn."
"How could I? I could already see your house, Sister Wanyin. I've been here before. Once I reached town, I didn't even use navigation."
Seeing the older sister he hadn't seen in so long, Chen Shi'an smiled too, studying the subtle changes in her over these past days.
Li Wanyin's voice seemed softer than usual. After nearly half a month apart, she felt a subtle unfamiliarity facing Chen Shi'an now. They had clearly seen each other every day before, yet being looked at by him now made her inexplicably shy. Perhaps she had walked too fast and too hurriedly just now; her heart was still pounding.
"Are you tired? Did it take you a long time to ride here?"
"Not really. I wasn't riding very fast, and it only took an hour and a half. Have you been waiting long, Sister Wanyin?"
"No... I just thought it was almost two thirty, so I came out to look. I didn't expect to spot you right away."
"Your new clothes for the New Year look lovely, Sister Wanyin. Did you get your hair cut again before the New Year?"
"You noticed? I only had a tiny bit cut off."
"I can tell. It looks good."
The joy in Li Wanyin's heart grew stronger. She looked up at the handsome face before her, still bearing a hint of travel weariness. Their parting in Jianzhang nearly half a month ago seemed like only yesterday.
