She slept for over an hour.
When Li Wanyin opened her eyes again, it was already past six in the evening.
The shop was brightly lit. The girls on staff were still asleep with their heads down in the booths, while Chen Shi'an cleaned with a broom and mop.
He had already restored the counters and worktops, left in a mess by the rush, to perfect order. He had washed all the utensils they had not had time to clean in the kitchen, and even the floors and tables, dirtied by who knew how many waves of customers, were clean again under his broom, mop, and cloth.
Li Wanyin had always been used to looking after others. When had anyone ever taken such meticulous care of her?
His quiet efforts made Li Wanyin, who was accustomed to shouldering every responsibility herself, truly experience a feeling she had never known before: being tenderly cared for.
She was the older sister, four years his senior. She should have been the one taking care of him more.
Yet in reality, from organizing the opening ceremony, to working at the intensity of six people during business hours, to quietly cleaning up after everyone else had collapsed from exhaustion... it had all been him, Chen Shi'an.
It was a wonderful feeling. In front of him, she could lay down her burdens and catch her breath, even sleep, without a worry.
Watching his focused profile, Li Wanyin felt her heart soften like melting honey.
An indescribable warmth and affection, something beyond the bond between an older sister and younger brother, silently grew and spread in her chest...
She really could do anything for him.
"Shi'an..."
Chen Shi'an looked up at her voice. Li Wanyin had risen from the booth after waking and was walking toward him.
