They returned from their mountain outing laden with spoils.

Getting to enjoy the mountain scenery while gathering so much along the way made Li Wanyin feel the trip had been well worth it.

It was already past three in the afternoon when they got home.

Chen Shi'an set down the basket and took stock of their haul with Li Wanyin.

Aside from the pile of "rubbish" Chen Shi'an had collected to make incense and a heap of medicinal herbs Li Wanyin couldn't name, most of the basket was filled with various wild mushrooms.

The golden oyster mushrooms and Black Wood Ear alone weighed over ten pounds, with another two or three pounds of hazel mushrooms, pine mushrooms, and assorted smaller fungi.

With only two people and a cat eating at home, they certainly couldn't finish all those wild mushrooms in one meal. They were all fresh, too, and mushrooms spoiled and lost their flavor quickly, so they wouldn't keep long.

"Shi'an, why don't you give some of these mushrooms to Uncle Lin or your classmates? We can't eat them all ourselves, and it'd be such a shame to waste them."

"Yes, I was just planning to take some to Uncle Lin and my classmates."

"Okay, then go drop them off first. I'll buy some groceries in a bit and make soup! We have a few lion's mane mushrooms that are perfect for that. Then we can stir-fry a plate of mixed mushrooms, make wood ear mushrooms with pork, and golden oyster mushrooms with eggs. How does that sound?"

"Sounds good. Those are all things I like."

"What time do you have to go to evening study tonight?"

"Class starts at six thirty."

"Okay, then I'll cook early so you can eat before you go."

Li Wanyin worked out the timing.
