The world knew nothing of the upheaval high above Huaxia. People were still trying to discover what had caused that bizarre solar eclipse, while academic circles argued furiously, unable to agree.
Meanwhile, the man responsible for it all had been carried home by his wife, fed an elixir, and settled down to recuperate.
The turmoil of the world no longer concerned him.
Qiu Wuji sat on the edge of the bed, gently stroking Chu Ge's face, her expression tender with love and wistful with memories.
A mortal then, the Heavenly Dao now.
Yet the man he was now had actually become more like the woman she had once been.
And the woman she was now had instead become more like the man he had once been.
They had each taken on the other's shape.
Then again, this fellow had been terribly full of himself even as a mortal. Without the slightest cultivation, he had dared to say, "If I am seeking the Dao, then, Qiu Wuji, the day you break free of your existence within the book will be my Dao Path."
That obnoxious look of "I'm your father" and "I'm going to teach you" had made her want to hit him.
But he had done it.
He had fulfilled his promise and realized his Dao Path.
Those youthful boasts had scattered on the wind, and in their place, a supreme god who could create and destroy with a thought had been born.
It was hard to say whether everything he had done along the way had been to complete his creation, for her, Qiu Wuji, or so that the two of them could walk hand in hand forever, free of all interference and obstacles.
"If I really must find a man, then he should be the Creator Father God!"
