As Kallen stepped down from the ring, he could see a clear change in the way everyone looked at him and the little details of how they treated him. After all, true respect was earned through one's own strength.
Marlow was an exception, comparatively speaking. First, although he had not witnessed Kallen's performance firsthand during their last mission, the formation he had set up had given him a clear sense of it. Second, after browsing the notebook of formations Kallen had given him, he was still immersed in a relatively pure academic atmosphere.
"Kallen, I have a theory about this formation. Could you take a look for me?"
"I'm not very familiar with formations," Kallen replied, sounding a little apologetic.
That was indeed the truth. A person's energy was always limited. Although Mr. Hoffen had left him an extremely extensive collection of formation notes, Kallen had only reached the stage of reading through them and had little time for practical work. Alfred, on the other hand, had remained immersed in formation research.

It was just that, after the two earlier exchanges in the ring, listeners tended to subconsciously take Kallen's "honesty" as a virtuous display of modesty.
"I'll set it up, and you can take a look for me. Would that be all right?" Marlow asked.
With no other choice, Kallen nodded. He thought that, while he lacked practical experience, he had at least found time to read plenty of Mr. Hoffen's records on formation theory. He should be able to offer Marlow a few comments based on the circumstances.
They would be correct statements, anyway.
"Then let's go next door." Marlow enthusiastically led Kallen toward the side door.
