Kallen slept only briefly. He felt as though his head had barely touched the pillow before Alfred's knocking woke him.
A call had come in. The team was assembling at the Ankara Hotel to continue their security assignment.
Sitting on the bed, Kallen turned to look at the clock. A quarter to nine.
So, excluding the time spent showering, he had slept for only two hours.
After such an eventful day yesterday, a mere two hours of sleep was clearly not enough.
After washing up and changing into clean clothes, Kallen got into Alfred's car and headed for the Ankara Hotel.
On the way, Alfred handed Kallen the breakfast Xili had prepared. Kallen looked at the stuffed pastries and milk inside, then shook his head.
"You can eat it later. I have no appetite."
When someone had not slept well, their appetite suffered too.
"Yes, Young Master."
At ten sharp, Alfred dropped Kallen off at the entrance to the Ankara Hotel.
"Whew..."
Alfred gazed at the magnificent, imposing hotel ahead, his eyes seeming to shine.
Seeing his expression, Kallen smiled. "When we have the chance, we'll open one too."
Alfred smiled as well. "Yes, Young Master."
After getting out, Kallen approached the hotel entrance with the sword case on his back, pulling a small suitcase. Had he known he would be back today, he would not have packed everything and taken it away yesterday.
After presenting his identification, Kallen was allowed through.
The number of guards at the gatehouse had not changed, but as he walked farther inside, he could clearly sense that security personnel inside now numbered three times yesterday's total. Everyone wore a solemn expression.
