Before this, no one would have imagined that a noble and great Temple Elder would descend here.
The status of Temple Elders was simply too high. Although nominally they still ranked below the Church's High Priest, in reality, when several Temple Elders sat down to chat, the High Priest could only stand beside them, without even a chair.
They stood above worldly affairs, guardians of the Divine Temple, acknowledged as the beings closest to the God of Order.
They generally did not appear amid the mundane business of running the Church. Although no explicit rule stipulated this, it was a long-standing, unspoken understanding.
When their presence was truly required, it usually meant that something major was about to happen, or was already happening, within the Church.
For instance, when the Order God Church declared war on the Reincarnation Church recently, elders of the Order Temple had appeared to lead the Knight Order.
After everyone paid homage in unison, all the hundreds of light clusters in this space fell silent, waiting for the Temple Elder's instructions.
Kallen fell silent as well, because he had never rehearsed the scene before him.
He truly had not known that the mask his grandfather left him could produce such an effect in this space. He could only blame the thing for being too advanced-so advanced that under normal circumstances, even if you wanted to explore or test it, you lacked the means. It could only spring a surprise on you out of nowhere... or a fright.
Kallen turned his attention downward again and discovered that Uncle Eisen's black light cluster had become somewhat square.
You did not even need the conscious messages released from the cluster. Simply looking at its current shape was enough to guess exactly what Uncle Eisen was feeling.
Astonishment... incomprehension... confusion...
