The captain twisted his neck, producing a series of crisp cracks. The fingers of both his hands trembled slightly, like a ferocious beast that had finally gained its freedom after being imprisoned for who knew how long.

Gradually, a mass of holy radiance appeared beside the captain.

He was hideous, yet sacred;

He was furious, yet serene;

He was twisted, yet gentle.

Two entirely different styles had been forcibly combined in the captain. They were not harmonious, yet both truly existed.

"I once swore... that when I returned... I would drink my fill of the Dark Moon's blood."

"Roar!"

The captain roared, then charged toward Kallen and Ophelia.

Ophelia instinctively stepped forward, placing Kallen behind her. A scroll appeared in her hand. With a flick of her wrist, the scroll fell, and in an instant, the runes of a small formation appeared.

A sword hilt emerged from those runes.

Kallen was very familiar with this sight, because he had an old refrigerator at home that could serve the same purpose.

As the princess of Dark Moon Island, it was only natural for Ophelia to enjoy such privileges. Besides, she would not feel the sting of the cost of summoning a weapon once, as he did.

However, Kallen knew that the runic magic formation Ophelia summoned with the scroll was very small. This island was not particularly far from Dark Moon Island; if the distance were any greater, Ophelia would be unable to summon her weapon.

In this respect, his old refrigerator had more of an advantage, because it could be upgraded. The cost of upgrading it was simply enormous, though, and the price of using it would also rise. In short... even if Kallen put his entire current fortune into it, that would not be enough for the upgrade.
