Silence.
Gods were exalted beings, truly supreme existences beyond social class, cognitive frameworks, and levels of life. Even comparing oneself to an ant on a god's fingertip was blasphemy.
When a god appeared before you, all you could do was press your forehead to the ground in worship;
When a god spoke to you, you could only listen attentively and then swear to obey unto death, for this was a divine edict;
When a god bestowed something upon you, you could only be grateful and offer all your devotion. Holding back even a fraction was a sin.
Had this wisp of the Dark Moon Goddess's "will" not descended, the island might already have vanished from the world, and all its people and things would have been utterly erased.
One could say that the goddess's appearance had already saved Kallen.
Yet faced with the goddess's demand, Kallen had chosen neither to swear an oath nor to accept her gift. Instead, he stood there and demanded that the holy goddess beg him.
Logically, Order's hunger was enough to drive Kallen mad at this moment. In fact, Kallen had already temporarily lost all reason and become a slave to "desire" and "need."
Thus, there was only one explanation for Kallen's ability to restrain his "hunger" now, suspend his devouring instinct, and continue standing here making demands of the goddess:
The newly emerged "desire" had suppressed his original "hunger desire."
He would not bow to gods, flatter gods, or worship gods;
He would not acknowledge their majesty, respect their supremacy, or believe in their grandeur;
A cleric in a world with gods, yet also a staunch "atheist";
What pleasure
Could compare to-blaspheming against a god?
