Kevin scraped his paws through the beach a few times, creating an effect of "flying sand and stones." Once he had built up the right atmosphere, he charged straight at the Three-Headed Hound ahead.
The Three-Headed Hound roared and lunged at Kevin too. Fireballs immediately formed in the mouths of its two outer heads, and it spat them at Kevin.
Puer swung the Little Fire Sword in her paw, first deflecting one fireball with a light flick, then following with a gentle backhand sweep to knock the second one away.
The two fireballs flew a long way before exploding, having essentially no effect on the fight.
This involved not only "swordsmanship," but, more importantly, perception and control of Fire Attribute Power. In that regard, Puer was a true expert. Though her life had not been particularly long compared with those genuine "old monsters," geniuses existed to overturn time-based standards.
Just as the two sides were about to collide, Puer tugged left with the paw clutching the fur on the back of Kevin's neck. Understanding immediately, Kevin did not meet the charge head-on. Instead, he kicked off with his hind legs, changed direction at the last moment, and passed alongside the Three-Headed Hound.
Holding the Little Fire Sword in her right paw, Puer slashed straight across the Three-Headed Hound's body.
Squelch!
The two sides passed each other.
Kevin immediately turned his head to face the Three-Headed Hound again, his paws continuing to dig holes in the ground.
"Enough, Stupid Dog, you're getting sand in my eyes, meow!"
Only then did Kevin stop. He turned back and gave Puer an apologetic smile. He had thought she liked that sort of thing.
The Three-Headed Hound also turned around immediately, but then looked at its own flank. A bloody gash had been cut there.
