Aisili had returned, but not because her parents had called her.
In fact, Selena and Santos would have preferred their daughter not to come back that day. As her parents, they were doing Kallen a favor. If Aisili was absent or knew nothing about it, then when Kallen repaid them, he would surely make it clear enough that when their daughter came home and mentioned it, they would both recognize it as repayment. Naturally, that would mean a more generous return.
But when Aisili was working, she spent half her nights in the dormitory and half back at the research institute. This was her home.
When she returned and saw Little Kangna, Aisili also assumed Kallen had brought her for a physical examination. But when she saw that it was Puer lying on the examination table, she immediately realized something.
Puer's physical examination soon concluded. She was in good health and well suited for surgery.
There were still three hours before the scheduled operation. Selena and Santos needed to continue calibrating the equipment and familiarizing themselves with the procedure, while Kallen could officially begin his preparations.

Kallen took Puer and Kangna to Aisili's home. He used the washroom in the Santos couple's bedroom, while Puer bathed in Aisili's bedroom.
Aisili herself was responsible for preparing the late-night snack.
"Is Sister Puer going to become human?" Little Kangna asked as she rubbed shower gel onto Puer.
"I don't know. I'm a little nervous, meow."
