But unlike the usual story, Puer had not only "forgotten" the agreement, she had suffered no backlash from the "devil."
Puer had ultimately become a cat through a series of accidents, with the Light Finger being the main factor. Compared with that finger, the "devil" was not even worth mentioning.
Moreover, the "devil" had been thoroughly duped. Who knew what methods Puer had used back then to leave it still harboring the illusion that generation after generation of the Eisena Family had continued to honor their agreement.
