Just as Xia Xiu thought the contract was signed and his ascension complete, a peculiar chime rang out. It was exceptionally clear, like the tinkling of wind chimes.

Xia Xiu's pupils contracted involuntarily. He was utterly astonished.

Different lineages had different notification sounds, much like phone ringtones. The Flesh Supremacy Lineage's notifications brought rock music to mind, while the sound he heard now resembled a sacred hymn.

It was the song of Heaven. In his previous life, he had been a top-tier player in the Heaven Lineage, so of course he recognized it.

But why? I clearly chose Flesh Supremacy...

[Verified bloodline detected-Abraham] [Linking to lineage-] [Linking phrase-]

Unlike the Flesh Supremacy Lineage, the Heaven Lineage took the form of a heavy tome. Six angels were depicted on its cover, with a silver cross in the center.

This has to be a joke. Can't Heaven's think tank see I'm already taken? And sure, I used the ritual to transform my body, successfully changing from a BIO species into a human, but even if I have a little of Heaven's blood in me, that tiny trace shouldn't be enough to summon Revelation.

And the Flesh Supremacy Lineage was right beside it. Yet they hadn't started fighting.

Revelation prompted him again, practically pressing against Xia Xiu's spirit body. Xia Xiu glanced at the parchment beside him and discovered that, like a character in certain films, it had suddenly gone blind. It showed absolutely no reaction to being cuckolded right before its eyes.

Revelation, meanwhile, was positively ecstatic to play the homewrecker, rubbing itself against Xia Xiu again and again.

Resigned, Xia Xiu pushed Revelation away from his face. By the look of things, he wouldn't get out of this without giving in to it today. You can't blame me for this.

Xia Xiu placed his right hand on Revelation, his expression turning solemn. Recalling the linking phrase, he began to recite:

"A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

a time to seek, and a time to lose;

a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

a time to tear, and a time to sew;

a time to keep silence, and a time to speak."

This was the declaration for obtaining the Heaven Lineage's Red Book. As Terra's largest supernatural lineage, the Heaven Lineage possessed all five common forms of lineage manifestation found on Terra. These five categories were:

White, representing cleanliness, simplicity, and directness-the White Book.

Blue, representing rigor, science, and objectivity-the Blue Book.

Green, signifying life, innovation, and the future-the Green Book.

Yellow, symbolizing openness, inclusiveness, and attention-the Yellow Book.

Red, carrying meanings such as warning and revelation-the Red Book.

These were the five common lineage forms on the continent of Terra, also known as standard forms. Generally, a lineage needed at least two standard forms before it could establish its own school. Heaven had five, which showed just how obscenely wealthy it was.

Oh, right-the Flesh Supremacy Lineage belonged to the special lineages. Their forms were generally called aberrant forms.

"Angels."

[No name found-] [Choose your own name-]

Xia Xiu wasn't surprised at all. This was similar to what happened with players. When a player switched to the Heaven Lineage, Revelation automatically searched all of Terra. Players were visitors from beyond this world, so naturally, it couldn't find them. At that point, they had to choose a name themselves.

"Xiu. My name is Xiu."

[Entered into the "Book of Life"]

Xiu had been Xia Xiu's character name in Heaven in his previous life. Perhaps because he had already registered his real name with Flesh Supremacy, he decided to use his old name here in Heaven. Why does this feel like I'm cheating on two partners?

[Xiu Abraham] [Rank: Angel (Angels)] ++Lineage: [Heaven-Red Book] ++ARad field: None ++Class: None ++Stage one: Measurer ++EVE Particle content: 100 spirit units ++Loudness: 10 dB (decibels) ++Timbre: Nonconstant wave ++Frequency: 164-698 Hz (hertz) ++Distortion field: 100 (normal) ++Traits: None

Revelation split off a sphere of light containing a red book. The book's pages turned on their own, displaying the information above.

Xia Xiu looked at the parchment floating to his left, then at the Red Book to his right, and unconsciously rubbed his chin.

Two lineages, and incompatible, opposing ones at that. Is this my cheat? Have the think tank systems of both lineages gone blind? Since when did Eden and Adaposs get along well enough to share a husband?

While Xia Xiu was pondering this, the parchment turned into a streak of red light and darted into his right hand, while the Red Book entered his left.

BOOM-

An enormous roar rang out beside Xia Xiu's ears. He knew this was a symptom of spending too long in the ether sea. Knowing he was about to be ejected, he followed his usual practice and voluntarily severed the consciousness link.

When Xia Xiu opened his eyes again, he had returned to the hall where Kradashi had been sacrificed. Apart from him, only the statue of Ravata, now restored to normal, remained in the hall.

The first thing Xia Xiu did after returning to the physical world was extend both hands and try swiping them through the air simultaneously. Two screens appeared before him, one red and the other an antiquated hue. The red screen displayed the Heaven Lineage's records, while the antiquated screen belonged to the Flesh Supremacy Lineage.

I can summon both lineages at once, and I can feel that my EVE Particle content is 200 spirit units. Under the game's starting conditions, a player or any other lineage bearer receives 100 spirit units of EVE Particles on their first link, regardless of the lineage's size.

Now he had 200 spirit units of EVE Particles, meaning he alone was receiving two lineages' shares.

Why was that?

Xia Xiu unconsciously rubbed his chin and began to think. After all, every gift bestowed by fate already had its price marked in secret.

With Kradashi around earlier, he had never had the chance to properly consider his transmigration. He could still clearly recall every detail of his previous life. Yes, every single detail.

He was like someone with hyperthymesia. Every memory of his past was vividly clear. If he wanted to, he could recall any passage from any book he had ever read.

Yet he keenly noticed a gap in his memory. He couldn't remember the twelve hours before logging into the game. In other words, those twelve hours were missing.

How very interesting.

As he thought, Xia Xiu's lips curved into a delighted smile. He had nothing against interesting things. When Terra Chronicles first came out in his previous life, he had immediately sensed that there was something extraordinary about it. Throughout his years playing the game, he had conducted a number of interesting experiments. The more experiments he carried out, the more a certain doubt weighed on his mind.

Was this really a game?
