The winged scorpion-shaped Gu flew straight above the wounded guardian's head, circled for a moment, then landed lightly on his injured arm.
Several guardians nearby leaned closer out of curiosity. Right where the Scorpion Gu Worm landed, there was a wound.
Strictly speaking, it was two tiny punctures.
The punctures were only a fingernail's width apart, their depths impossible to see. Blood was welling out of them. Although they were only two small holes, blood gushed from them in streams and dripped onto the ground.
A guardian beside him said, "Those are definitely wounds from a Blood Locust's bite! That's exactly the distance between its two large fangs."
"And the most potent effect of the deadly venom in a Blood Locust's fangs is that it prevents wounds from healing or even scabbing over."
"They may look like two insignificant little holes, but without a suitable method of neutralizing the poison and treating the wound, the bleeding will take at least two days and two nights to gradually stop."
"That venom has another vicious effect: it accelerates the circulation of blood and vital energy throughout the body. In the short term, it might invigorate someone, which seems like a good thing."
"But combined with these two punctures that won't heal, that amounts to... amounts to constantly bleeding someone dry!"
The Scorpion Gu Worm circled the two punctures on the guardian's arm twice, as though carefully checking something.
Then it spat some white foam from its mouth and applied it to the two punctures.
Strangely enough, the white foam took effect the instant it was applied. The two punctures gushing blood were immediately plugged, and the bleeding stopped.
Then Incense Master Shen asked, "Did you catch the Blood Locust that bit you?"
The wounded guardian hastily thanked him. "Thank you for treating
