Her?
Shen Ye instantly lost all trace of sleepiness. After pondering for a few seconds, he chose to answer.
A breathtaking beauty immediately appeared on the card.
Dressed in white, she was walking along a rugged, treacherous mountain path.
Moonlight fell over her long hair, illuminating the soft contours of her cheeks and her ethereal eyes.
"Brother Shen Ye." The girl smiled.
"Song Qingyun?" Shen Ye asked.
"Yes," the girl said, watching the path ahead. "I already know about that incident. I'm very sorry. That really wasn't what I intended."
"Oh?" Shen Ye uttered.
"In short, things are completely different from what you think, and I never had romantic feelings for you," Song Qingyun said.
"But things seem rather different from what you're saying," Shen Ye uttered again.
By then, Song Qingyun seemed to have reached a mountain summit.
Soft whispers came from nearby, as though her companions were discussing something in low voices.
Song Qingyun ignored them, but she did not respond to Shen Ye either.
She merely gazed out at the boundless sea of clouds, as though contemplating something.
A moment passed.
Only then did she smile faintly and say casually:
"I'm on Jialan Miaoyu Peak, seeking the Heavenly Dao above and cultivating myself below. I never intended to bring you any trouble."
"But this does need to be accounted for."
"Then let's make it the day after tomorrow."
"The three schools are holding a joint welcome party that evening. We'll meet then."
"I'll tell you the truth about what happened."
"How does that sound?"
"Why not tell me right now?" Shen Ye asked.
"Right now, there's no proof for a lot of things. Would you believe me if I told you?" Song Qingyun asked.
Fair enough.
"All right. See you the evening after tomorrow," Shen Ye said.
