A saber.
A saber appeared without a sound.
Its blurred silhouette swept past the monster's head, then effortlessly split into seven or eight afterimages.
As blood mist burst forth.
The man and his saber had already appeared dozens of meters away.
Clang!
The long saber returned to its sheath.
Shen Ye walked back and carefully examined the corpse on the ground.
"That slash of yours was pretty good."
The Chaos Boat spoke.
"Of course it was," Shen Ye said.
"But why did you fly dozens of meters away after slashing?" the Chaos Boat asked.
"Why wouldn't I?" Shen Ye countered.
"Look, you flew away, only to have to walk back to examine the corpse."
"Couldn't be helped-I didn't want monster blood on me."
"You're surprisingly particular about hygiene."
"Because I was about to eat."
Elsewhere.
Good Duckie had already received Shen Ye's memories and was rapidly running a search:
"Emblem!"
"A monster with two pairs of compound eyes, an elongated body, eight legs, and black muscle tissue. It excels at pouncing and can use the power of laws to travel through space."
"Search!"
A voice sounded from the Emblem:
"This search requires payment of 70 entropy points; an in-depth search requires 1,000 entropy points."
"Money's no object. Find out everything!" Good Duckie declared lavishly.
A moment later.
The search results arrived.
Inside the Pale World.
Shen Ye was squatting on the ground, eating a boxed meal.
As Good Duckie's memories synced over, he wiped his mouth and couldn't help muttering:
"Monsters that only appear in the Pale World?"
"They're group combat units. Kill one, and a whole swarm appears. Their collective technique is a same-frequency resonance annihilation method."
"What a pain..."
He suddenly drew his saber and unleashed a succession of long and short saber silhouettes into the void.
Whoosh,
