In the darkness.
Two great ships glided silently along, one behind the other.
Young Shen Ye sat aboard the ship in front, his gaze vacant, his thoughts unknown.
A long while passed.
Only then did his eyes stir as he came back to himself and murmured:
"Time... really is fascinating..."
Indeed.
Now that he had attained a trait like "Harmonizer of All Laws," he could perceive all manner of laws fully and profoundly.
Time was neither a scale measured against a reference point nor a kind of marker.
It was a form of "state energy."
With the right state energy, all living beings could instantly regain their youth; but if the temporal state was "death," then all living beings would die, their souls leaving their bodies.
Shen Ye stood, stretched, and looked toward the other ship pursuing him relentlessly from behind.
-They had locked down time throughout all of history.
But with a deeper understanding of time's properties, their strategy seemed far too crude.
Did locking down every "temporal state" mean you could win?
Shen Ye pondered in silence.
Suddenly.
The ship behind him began shaking violently, erupting with an earth-shattering blast.
The ship exploded!
The great ship belonging to the monsters broke apart, its fragments swaying and struggling in the dark void.
But it was useless.
The power of entropy annihilation descended upon the ship, rapidly breaking the entire vessel down into luminous particles.
Those particles were as gorgeous as flowers, yet swiftly fell and faded.
In the darkness.
A figure came hurtling toward him.
The Soul-Possessing Ball!
"What did you do?"
It demanded in a deep voice.
"Me? I didn't do anything." Shen Ye spread his hands with a smile.
"Impossible... if you didn't do anything, why was our ship destroyed?" The Soul-Possessing Ball did not believe him.
