Shen Ye and Wang discovered that the enemies in the ancient human capital could help solve their problems, and Shen Ye was loaded with the Exorcism Sequence. After following a noose into a prison in the Abyss, Shen Ye and Wang encountered demons eager to extract the evil within him, while Rahu arrived and was dragged away for a ritual.

• Shen Ye used his traits to shield himself and his companions from the purple sphere’s attacks, then realized the enemy force was meant to address their problems and received the Exorcism Sequence.
• A noose pulled Shen Ye and Wang into a village in the past, where they buried the dead, aided the survivors, and Wang killed an Emperor Species the villagers called a demon.
• The village elder explained that Wang needed a name and that Shen Ye’s Exorcism Sequence would send him to the Abyss, where beings would try to draw out his evil.
• Shen Ye and Wang arrived in an Abyssal prison, where several demons disguised themselves as men and tried to obtain Shen Ye’s evil through a ritual.
• Rahu appeared in the prison and was seized by the demons, who began taking him away for a ritual while Shen Ye and Wang considered exploring beyond the bars.

Shen Ye, White Emperor, and Rahu used the Exorcism sequence’s relics to strengthen themselves, but Shen Ye’s flail shattered a hidden barrier and awakened a Primordial Dark Serpent. With the power of traits dominating the Abyss, Shen Ye fused the serpent with his team and then separated them back out, leaving the serpent horrified to discover something had entered its body.

• After Shen Ye and White Emperor endured the Soul-Suppressing Nail and Cross, Rahu fled to fight alone while the two rested; a Flail of Suffering appeared after Rahu defeated another monster.
• Shen Ye struck himself with the flail, shattered a concealment barrier, and gained strength, while White Emperor used it to remove black runes left by the Saints from his body.
• The barrier’s destruction awakened a Primordial Dark Serpent, and Shen Ye fused himself, White Emperor, and Rahu into Super Shen Houdi with Mandala Ouroboros.
