"I finally found it!"
Following his own senses, the little Night Demon finally found the Demon Ruler.
He cradled the Demon Ruler in his hands. As though sensing the little Night Demon's touch, the Demon Ruler suddenly emitted rays of dark red light.
"L-little master?"
The Demon Ruler's weak voice actually carried a hint of excitement. Now that the little Night Demon was holding him, he no longer needed to remain dormant.
"Yes. Tell me, what do we need to do?"
"Little master, that old fellow's cultivation is far greater than yours, after all. You must catch him off guard and throw me at him. I'll seize the chance to control him and use that human's Heart Demon to take over the old bastard's body."
"This is our only chance!"
"Are you saying you created that human's Heart Demon?"
The little Night Demon's face was full of astonishment.
"Yes, little master."
The Demon Ruler continued, "I did indeed create that human's Heart Demon, but although I brought it into being, I can't fully control it."
"That human's constitution is no ordinary one either. Presumably, before long, his Heart Demon will gain a fully independent consciousness and break free of my control altogether."
"I'm afraid that human's Heart Demon will be able to act completely freely in less than two hours. We must resolve this as soon as possible before then, or matters will slip beyond our control."
Hearing this, the little Night Demon nodded, holding the Demon Ruler.
"All right. Then tell me what I need to do now."
"Sneak inside. I'll conceal your aura for now. Once you see that old bastard, just throw me at him. Leave the rest to me," the Demon Ruler said.
