Chapter 210: Havoc in the Golden Rhino Cave (Twenty-One)
Now, Wukong had sought the aid of divine generals throughout the world, yet still could not overcome Blood Sea and Green Ox working together. At his wits' end, he did not know whom else to invite.
Ao Tu reminded him, "There are still Guanyin Bodhisattva, Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, and Manjushri Bodhisattva. Great Sage, invite those three, and you will surely subdue the demons."
Wukong said, "True Lord, have you forgotten? If the Buddha will not come, why would the three Bodhisattvas?"
Ao Tu said, "Great Sage, come here. Let me tell you something."
Wukong followed him.
Ao Tu told Wukong, "Great Sage, although the Buddha refused to help you subdue the demons, he never said he would not help you subdue the Blood Sea King. Just say you are inviting the three Bodhisattvas to subdue Blood Sea-"
Wukong's eyes gradually brightened.
On Mount Luojia of Putuo, Southern Sea, the greatly merciful and compassionate Guanyin Bodhisattva, whose divine responses were wondrous, was expounding the Way and preaching the Dharma in the Purple Bamboo Forest.
Wukong came riding a cloud, landed before the cliff, and tried to enter.
The Mountain-Guarding Deity barred his way.
Wukong said, "I have urgent business to report to the Bodhisattva!"
The Mountain-Guarding Deity said, "Great Sage, the Bodhisattva has ordered that no one be allowed inside."
Ignoring him, Wukong barged in, only to encounter Hui'an the Wanderer, Mucha.
Mucha stopped Wukong once more and said, "Great Sage, the Bodhisattva instructed you to reflect on your faults before coming again."
Wukong said, "I have urgent business to report to the Bodhisattva!"
Hui'an the Wanderer said, "What urgent business?"
Wukong said, "I cannot explain it to you. Let me inside."
Hui'an the Wanderer blocked Wukong and would not let him enter.
