The Stonecutter's Wife came here, looking carefully around her.
Yesterday, the Bodhisattva had manifested and told them to worship Buddha, saying that Buddha would bestow gifts at Back Mountain. Thus, she had come especially to search today.
After walking some distance, she reached the foot of the main slope on the western side of Back Mountain, where she saw some game and berries laid out in the middle of the path.
Overjoyed, the Stonecutter's Wife hurriedly bowed in thanks to Buddha, then took the things home.
After the Stonecutter's Wife left, the Wild Boar Spirit and the Frog Spirit emerged from hiding.
The Wild Boar Spirit scratched his head. "What is the Great King doing?"
The Frog Spirit said, "Hmm... the Great King must want to eat her!"
The Wild Boar Spirit said, "The Great King told us to bring her things. How could he want to eat her?"
The Frog Spirit said, "This is what the Great King calls casting a long line to catch a big frog!"
The Wild Boar Spirit said, "I don't believe it. If the Great King wanted to eat her, he could swallow her in one gulp. Why would he need to fish for her?"
The Frog Spirit said, "Then what do you think the Great King's doing?"
The Wild Boar Spirit said, "If you ask me... perhaps the Great King is doing a good deed."
The Frog Spirit said, "Nonsense! The Great King is a mighty demon king. How could he possibly do good deeds!"
