After leaving Lesser Thunderclap Temple, Wukong continued following the plan. He rested for a night, then arrived at Taihe Palace on Wudang Mountain the next day.
Upon meeting Emperor Zhenwu, Wukong explained what had happened and asked him to subdue the demons.
Emperor Zhenwu also knew the Yellow-Browed Old Demon's origins and was unwilling to provoke him, so he said, "Since the Great Sage has come to ask me, I should not refuse this favor. However, the Jade Emperor commanded me to suppress demons and guard the northern continent. The western continent is not within my domain, and I dare not leave my post without permission and take up arms. Western Ox Continent is sacred ground of the Western Heaven, bathed in Buddha-light, where everyone inclines toward goodness. Even if there are some demons, they surely cannot pose any great danger. I shall now send the Turtle-Snake Generals and the Five Great Divine Dragons to assist you, Great Sage, in cutting down the evil beings and rescuing your honored master."
Hearing this, Wukong thought that the True Lord had indeed predicted it again. He agreed once more and bowed in thanks.
He then led the dragon, snake, and turtle generals to Lesser Thunderclap Temple and challenged the demons again.
The Yellow-Browed Old Demon led his troops out. Seeing the turtle, snake, and dragon generals, he asked, "From which seas do you dragon gods and turtle ministers hail? The Dragon Kings of the Four Seas and I all call one another brothers. Why are you helping outsiders and turning your weapons on your own family?"
