Although Ace was the son of Roger, Whitebeard's old rival, Whitebeard valued Ace greatly. If Ace did not die, he would likely become the successor of the Whitebeard Pirates in the future.
"Will you step in then, Lord Liu Feng?" Yamato asked, looking at Liu Feng with shining eyes.
"Whitebeard is already old. Even at his peak, he would not have been worth my intervention."
"Can I step in?"
Yamato wanted to find out just how powerful Whitebeard, the legendary strongest man, truly was, and whether she could fight him now.
"Do you want to get beaten up?"
Liu Feng looked at Yamato strangely. He understood Yamato's strength even better than she did herself.
If Yamato faced Whitebeard now, she would most likely be utterly crushed. She was no match for Whitebeard at all; the gap was enormous.
Whitebeard might be old now and suffering from injuries and illness, but even Kaido would not have absolute confidence in defeating the current Whitebeard.
"Lord Liu Feng, do you have that little faith in me?"
Yamato was somewhat upset. Was she really guaranteed to get beaten up? Could she not defeat Whitebeard? Liu Feng was underestimating her too much.
"Do you think I'm looking down on you?" Liu Feng asked Yamato when he saw her displeased expression.
Yamato nodded. "That's right. I feel like you're looking down on me. Even if I can't defeat Whitebeard, I won't just stand there and take a beating, right?"
"If you don't believe me, you can try it. As long as you aren't afraid of getting beaten up."
Liu Feng did not care. Since Yamato did not believe him, he would let her try when the time came.
"Fine."
As stubborn as Yamato was, she would never believe it unless she tried for herself.
