"If one day you meet someone better, would you... would you throw me away?"

Without even realizing it, Yan Zhiyi had become so abject that he had even used the words "throw away."

Xia Shule froze for a moment, not expecting him to suddenly bring up something like this. Seeing the faint sorrow in Yan Zhiyi's eyes, he knew he must be feeling insecure.

He had sensed this over the past few days and had tried his own ways of giving Yan Zhiyi some security, such as constantly sticking close to him.

But clearly, this no longer seemed like something he could resolve just by sticking close.

He looked firmly into Yan Zhiyi's eyes. "No. I love you. Besides, to me, you're the best person there is. Whether it's ten years or twenty, I can promise that won't change."

Xia Shule gave a seemingly relaxed laugh and teased, "I'm the one who's worried you'll think I'm too young and childish."

Yan Zhiyi buried his face in the crook of Xia Shule's neck, his voice a little muffled. "I'd give you my life. How could I ever find fault with you? Hearing you promise me these things makes me feel a little more at ease."

They held each other tightly on the warm bed.

Xia Shule thought he had soothed Yan Zhiyi, but in truth, that strange mood still hadn't faded. It seemed like worry, yet also like anticipation.

He couldn't figure it out.

"I don't feel like moving. I don't even want to do tonight's filming," Xia Shule said as they chatted idly.

"Then don't," Yan Zhiyi said.

"How could I do that? I promised them, so I can't leave halfway through. Shall we sneak out for a late-night snack tonight?" Xia Shule looked at Yan Zhiyi with sparkling eyes.
