At half past eight, heading toward nine, Yan Zhiyi finally carried the soundly sleeping Xia Shule off for a bath.

His once-fluffy hair had been soaked with sweat and clumped into strands.

His body was covered in marks, too. Yan Zhiyi was very satisfied with his own handiwork on him.

Once Xia Shule was washed and smelling sweet, Yan Zhiyi gently laid him on the bed and tucked him in, then went downstairs alone to cook. Eating just one meal all day was bad for his health.

It was his fault, too, for failing to restrain himself.

Yan Zhiyi made lots of Xia Shule's favorite dishes, wanting to make it up to him.

The whole table was filled with dishes Xia Shule loved at Quiet Silence Residence, all recreated exactly by Yan Zhiyi.

He went upstairs, and the sight of Xia Shule sleeping so sweetly sent ripples through his heart. "Lele," he called softly.

"Hmm?" Xia Shule made a questioning sound, but neither opened his eyes nor moved. It was just a questioning hum.

"Lele." Yan Zhiyi almost couldn't bear to wake Xia Shule, but he had to get up and eat, or his body wouldn't hold up. He raised his voice. "Lele, let's get up and have something to eat before we go back to sleep, okay? I made your favorites."

"Mm..." Xia Shule squirmed under the covers, cursing that tireless old man Yan Zhiyi even in his dreams.

Why could I still hear his voice in my dreams?

Yan Zhiyi pinched Xia Shule's soft, tender cheek. "Lele, hurry and get up for a bite."

Feeling the tickle on his face, Xia Shule finally opened his eyes with a little anger. What now? Still haven't had enough?

I finally got to sleep. Don't tell me it's already morning...?
