Jiang Xun looked at the person sitting beside him.

His complexion was sickly pale, his features exquisitely refined, and a faint smile still curved his lips.

Jiang Xun fell briefly silent.

Fuck, why was Ji Yuntian here?

He hadn't seen that future true-crime headline in ages and had almost forgotten the guy existed.

Jiang Xun slowly lowered his gaze to the man's disabled legs. He wasn't in a wheelchair, and hadn't he moved them when he made room for Jiang Xun just now?

A gentle smile lingered on Ji Yuntian's face as he said slowly, "Little Black, long time no see." His gaze settled on Jiang Xun's face, which could now be considered fair, openly examining him inch by inch. A glimmer of interest crossed his eyes. "I suppose I should call you Little Bai now."

He hadn't come with good intentions.

Jiang Xun scanned the classroom and spotted Lin Jian sitting in the farthest corner. Lin Jian was also looking at him, his delicate face filled with anxiety and sympathy.

It seemed Ji Yuntian's image in Lin Jian's mind had completely collapsed. The brainwashing had worked beautifully.

Ji Yuntian followed Jiang Xun's gaze, then looked back at him, the smile in his pale features growing gentler-a blade concealed behind a smile.

Jiang Xun tugged at the corners of his mouth, offering a smile that didn't reach his eyes, and subtly shifted away.

If I can't take him on, surely I can hide from him.

"Why are you dodging me? Let's settle..." Ji Yuntian paused, then propped up his chin and tilted his head slightly as he studied the person before him. "The matter of you spreading rumors about me."

Jiang Xun took his textbook out of his backpack and put on a bewildered expression. "What rumors? I don't understand."
