The moment he entered, he saw Lianshan Xin's mother worshipping the Unborn Venerable Mother.
How was Maitreya supposed to believe that Lianshan Xin had nothing to do with the Unborn Venerable Mother?
What Maitreya did not know was that Lianshan Xin was just as bewildered.
"Mother, weren't you following the Dao now?"
Lianshan Xin knew his mother's faith was flexible, but hadn't she only just switched from the Buddhist Order to the Daoist Order?
Had she switched again already?
And of all the faiths she could have switched to, why the Unborn Venerable Mother's?
This was an even bigger nest of rebels than the current Demon Cult.
He Miaojun blinked and explained earnestly, "The Venerable Mother is also a Daoist Immortal."
Maitreya flew into a rage. "The Venerable Mother was my and Shakyamuni's teacher! Since when was she a Daoist Immortal? No, by today's terminology, she cultivated both Buddhism and the Dao." As he spoke, Maitreya calmed down again.
Lianshan Xin was shocked again. "The Venerable Mother was your and Shakyamuni's teacher? Spirit Mountain belongs to her?"
"Of course not. Spirit Mountain is the foundation Shakyamuni and I built with our own hands."
Lianshan Xin automatically reversed the order of Shakyamuni Buddha and Maitreya.
If Maitreya really had come first and still had his power usurped, he would have been far too useless.
"To us, the Venerable Mother was merely a guide. The master leads you through the door; cultivation is up to the individual."
"I see. In other words, the Unborn Venerable Mother isn't necessarily stronger than you and Shakyamuni Buddha."
"She is still a little stronger than me," Maitreya said quietly.
The implication was that the Unborn Venerable Mother was not necessarily stronger than Shakyamuni Buddha.
Lianshan Xin looked back at He Miaojun and suddenly understood her thinking.
