Ch. 21Mahito

Yuji Itadori confronted Mahito at the school, believing Mahito had killed Junpei and discovering that his attacks could damage Mahito’s soul. As Mahito’s fight with Itadori escalated, Kento Nanami arrived and prepared to exorcise him.

  • Mahito appeared in the stairwell and attacked Itadori while Junpei tried to defend him, but the lights went out and Junpei was struck unconscious by Hajime Kashimo, who secretly healed him.
  • When the lights returned, Itadori saw Junpei’s blood and a hole in the wall, assumed Mahito had killed him, and attacked in a rage.
  • Itadori’s punches damaged Mahito’s soul, revealing that his attacks could bypass Mahito’s unusual defense.
  • Mahito touched Itadori’s soul with Idle Transfiguration, but Ryomen Sukuna repelled him and warned him not to try again.
  • Mahito split his body and tried to strike Itadori with a spiked club, but Kento Nanami arrived, cut off Mahito’s arm, and knocked him away.

Ch. 22Differences

Newly born Thousand Fangs met the other special grade cursed spirits but rejected Kenjaku’s proposal to work with him. Jogo’s taunts drove Thousand Fangs to set out and prove its strength against Jujutsu High and the Six Eyes.

  • Thousand Fangs met Jogo and Hanami while Dagon remained in the cursed womb stage, and it explained that its beastfolk appearance was only a shell around its fluid body.
  • Thousand Fangs refused to cooperate with Kenjaku because he was human, despite Hanami’s attempt to mediate.
  • Kenjaku said Thousand Fangs could join them later but warned it not to lead jujutsu sorcerers to them.
  • Jogo called Thousand Fangs too weak to survive against the Six Eyes, while Kenjaku judged it inexperienced and without a useful cursed technique.
  • Thousand Fangs vowed to venture out, challenge Jujutsu High and the Six Eyes, and prove itself through battle.

Ch. 23Domain Expansion

Mahito trapped Kento Nanami inside his Domain Expansion, Self-Embodiment of Perfection, while Yuji Itadori prepared to strike the barrier from outside. Hajime Kashimo took the unconscious Junpei toward Jujutsu High and resolved to keep pace with modern sorcerers by learning to use a domain.

  • Kento Nanami and Itadori used their attacks to overwhelm Mahito and leave him with no chance to escape.
  • Mahito expanded Self-Embodiment of Perfection, trapping Nanami inside while Itadori was pushed outside.
  • Nanami realized Mahito’s sure-hit technique left him with almost no chance of survival.
  • Hajime Kashimo reflected on how modern sorcerers relied on domains and recalled killing a Cursed Speech User who had abandoned his domain to defend himself.
  • Itadori leaped onto Mahito’s barrier to prepare a heavy punch as Hajime Kashimo carried the unconscious Junpei toward Jujutsu High and decided to keep pace with the times.

Ch. 24The one who returned from the dead

Satoru Gojo told Shoko Ieiri that Suguru Geto's body had returned and was allied with intelligent Special Grade cursed spirits. They considered how Mahito's Idle Transfiguration could awaken ordinary people's cursed techniques and anticipated an attack around the Goodwill Event.

  • Shoko Ieiri found Satoru Gojo at Suguru Geto's unmarked grave, where Gojo told her Geto's body had returned to life.
  • Gojo explained that Geto had gathered intelligent Special Grade cursed spirits and appeared to be using them rather than controlling them with Cursed Spirit Manipulation.
  • Shoko said a technique for possessing another person's body seemed unlikely, and Gojo rejected the idea that a soul-altering cursed spirit had turned Geto into one.
  • Gojo asked whether a technique that changed souls could awaken cursed techniques in ordinary people, and Shoko said it was theoretically possible through Idle Transfiguration.
  • Gojo and Shoko worried that Mahito and Geto could help create many new curse users, and Gojo warned that the cursed spirits might attack during the Goodwill Event.

Ch. 25Kyoto Sister-School Goodwill Event (Part One)

Yuji Itadori returned to Jujutsu High during the Kyoto Goodwill Event, surprising both schools and reuniting with Megumi Fushiguro and Kugisaki. Meanwhile, Satoru Gojo tasked Utahime with investigating possible allies of Suguru Geto, and Yoshinobu Gakuganji ordered Todo to take Hajime Kashimo out of the event.

  • Satoru Gojo gave Kyoto Jujutsu High students souvenirs, then revealed Yuji Itadori inside a performance box, startling them into preparing for battle.
  • Megumi Fushiguro and Kugisaki realized Itadori was alive, then hit him for hiding his return while Gojo watched from a safe distance.
  • Itadori apologized to his classmates, met the second-years and Hajime Kashimo, and Kashimo chose not to tell him that Junpei was alive.
  • Satoru Gojo asked Utahime to investigate whether Kyoto's higher-ups were working with cursed spirits or curse users and to track Suguru Geto's former associates.
  • Todo rejected the Kyoto principal's scheme to execute Itadori, but Yoshinobu Gakuganji ordered him to incapacitate Kashimo during the event.

Ch. 26Kyoto Sister-School Goodwill Event (Part Two)

Hajime Kashimo ambushed the Kyoto Jujutsu High team and quickly incapacitated its fighters, then healed three of the injured students. He ordered Mechamaru to come with him, leaving Noritoshi Kamo with a tracking device as they departed.

  • Hajime Kashimo struck Kasumi Miwa and then attacked Momo Nishimiya as she flew on her broom.
  • Mai Zenin and Momo Nishimiya attacked Kashimo, but he dodged their strikes, used Momo as a shield against Mai’s bullets, and knocked both girls unconscious.
  • Kashimo’s attack left Noritoshi Kamo and Mechamaru as the only conscious Kyoto students, and they considered surrendering.
  • Kashimo used Reverse Cursed Technique to heal Kasumi Miwa, Momo Nishimiya, and Mai Zenin, spending more than half his cursed energy.
  • Kashimo ordered Mechamaru to accompany him, and Mechamaru handed Noritoshi Kamo a Mechanical Tracking Device before leaving.

Ch. 27Kyoto Sister-School Goodwill Event (Part Two)

Hajime Kashimo confronted Mechamaru about his secret cooperation with curse users, then offered to help him pursue his wish in exchange for a chance at becoming companions. As the Kyoto students regrouped and Momo Nishimiya and Kasumi Miwa returned to camp, Thousand Fangs hid in the forest and noticed another group approaching.

  • Hajime Kashimo told Mechamaru he knew about his deal with the curse users and warned him that fulfilling it might not let him survive.
  • Hajime Kashimo offered to help Mechamaru and asked him for two alarm devices; Mechamaru gave him the devices and proposed a binding vow to keep their involvement secret.
  • Mechamaru returned to Noritoshi Kamo, and the Kyoto students split up after Momo Nishimiya and Kasumi Miwa were too injured to keep fighting.
  • Momo Nishimiya complained about Hajime Kashimo as she and Kasumi Miwa headed back to camp, while Momo cut down a Grade 4 cursed spirit with her broken broom.
  • Thousand Fangs, disguised as an animal, hid from an approaching group after slipping past the Goodwill Event's Alert Barrier.

Ch. 28A gathering of the worthy

Maki and Kugisaki defeated Momo Nishimiya and Kasumi Miwa, while Hajime Kashimo forfeited the Goodwill Event to intercept the special grade cursed spirits attacking Jujutsu High. As an intruder’s Curtain trapped the students and Hanami appeared, Kashimo headed to confront Jogo, the greatest threat to the arriving sorcerers.

  • Maki disarmed Kasumi Miwa, and Kugisaki knocked Momo Nishimiya down before Mai shot Kugisaki with rubber bullets.
  • Hajime Kashimo forfeited the event and left the Hunting Area to reduce sorcerer casualties during Kenjaku’s coming assault.
  • A talisman revealed that a grade 4 and a semi-grade 1 cursed spirit had been exorcised, alarming Yoshinobu Gakuganji because he had ordered Yuji Itadori killed.
  • A special grade cursed spirit appeared before Toge Inumaki, and an unexpected Curtain descended over the school grounds, turning the Tokyo and Kyoto students against a common enemy.
  • Hajime Kashimo assessed the cursed spirits and chose to prioritize Jogo, who could cause widespread destruction and slaughter the incoming reinforcements.

Ch. 29An unplanned variable

Jogo attacked the sorcerers at Jujutsu High while Mahito carried out the mission to steal Sukuna's Finger and the Cursed Womb: Death Paintings. Hajime Kashimo drove Jogo off and rescued a dying Grade 2 Sorcerer from the rubble.

  • Jogo killed one Grade 2 Sorcerer and gravely wounded the other in the training hall.
  • Jogo set spore traps and waited for reinforcements, but Hajime Kashimo appeared behind him and struck him with a lightning-charged elbow.
  • Jogo unleashed magma and his Flame Glint Bugs, but Hajime Kashimo emerged from the explosions unharmed.
  • Jogo fled after realizing the disturbance might draw Satoru Gojo, while Hajime Kashimo rescued the surviving Grade 2 Sorcerer from the rubble.

Ch. 30Absolute suppression

Hanami and Thousand Fangs overwhelmed the students at Tokyo Jujutsu High, and Megumi Fushiguro was gravely wounded before Hanami knocked him unconscious. Thousand Fangs then revealed his Lion Tiger form on the rooftop.

  • Inumaki restrained Hanami with Cursed Speech while Noritoshi Kamo struck it with Piercing Blood, but Hanami barely suffered a scratch and drove the students from the building.
  • Nue caught the injured Noritoshi Kamo as Megumi Fushiguro and Inumaki retreated to the rooftop, where Megumi prepared to hold Hanami off.
  • Thousand Fangs attacked Megumi from behind and pierced his abdomen, but Inumaki forced him away with Cursed Speech and collapsed from the backlash.
  • Hanami remembered Kenjaku's instruction not to kill the students who might trigger Sukuna and used its technique to make the badly wounded Megumi pass out.
  • Thousand Fangs confronted Hanami and transformed into Lion Tiger, a massive beast form that retained its speed.

Ch. 31Infighting

Hanami protected the wounded Megumi Fushiguro from Thousand Fangs, and the two cursed spirits fought over the rooftop. Hajime Kashimo struck Thousand Fangs with lightning, giving Maki a chance to attack as Megumi returned, healed and conscious.

  • Hanami refused to let Thousand Fangs kill Megumi Fushiguro and moved him to the forest floor while Maki watched from hiding.
  • Thousand Fangs attacked Hanami, who countered with roots and vines before landing a heavy punch.
  • Thousand Fangs transformed into an eagle and then a diving bear, but Hajime Kashimo intercepted him with a lightning strike.
  • Maki followed the strike and raised her blade as Megumi Fushiguro appeared overhead, healed by Hajime Kashimo.

Ch. 32The farce ends

After a coordinated attack by curse users and special grade cursed spirits left casualties at Jujutsu High, its leaders discussed keeping the incident from students and field sorcerers. The students recovered and played baseball, while Kashimo and Gojo quietly discussed the strength of the enemy they had faced.

  • Kashimo lamented that his lightning strike had failed to kill Thousand Fangs, then joined the aftermath of the attack.
  • Ijichi reported the deaths of a Grade 2 Sorcerer, two assistant supervisors, and two storehouse guards, and Gojo explained how a nature spirit could have slipped past Tengen's barrier.
  • Yaga and Gakuganji rejected Utahime's suggestion to inform students and field sorcerers because curse users had coordinated with special grade cursed spirits.
  • Kugisaki and Itadori visited the recovering Megumi, who challenged Itadori to become stronger, and Todo praised Megumi's resolve.
  • Tokyo and Kyoto Jujutsu High held a baseball game instead of the Individual Battle, while Gojo asked Kashimo about the enemy's strength.

Ch. 33The Yasohachi Bridge curse

Megumi Fushiguro, Itadori, and Kugisaki entered the Yasohachi Bridge curse’s incomplete domain, while Hajime Kashimo stayed outside and refused to interfere. When the domain split the group, Itadori and Kugisaki faced Kechizu outside as Megumi was left alone inside to fight.

  • The four first-years confirmed that the automatic door murders were linked to the Yasohachi Bridge curse and arrived at the bridge to investigate.
  • Itadori and Kugisaki insisted on joining Megumi, while Hajime Kashimo warned them that crossing the river into the domain would likely bring an attack.
  • The three crossed into the incomplete domain and fought through waves of low-level cursed spirits before Kechizu appeared and attacked Itadori and Kugisaki.
  • Itadori engaged Kechizu while Megumi and Kugisaki worked to destroy the domain, but the domain was breached and Kugisaki was dragged away.
  • Itadori followed Kechizu through the vortex, leaving Megumi alone inside the domain to face a difficult one-on-one battle.

Ch. 34Unlocking potential

Megumi Fushiguro faced a powerful special grade cursed spirit threatening his sister, Tsumiki, and fought it with his shikigami. Near defeat, he rejected using his final sacrificial trump card and awakened his incomplete Domain Expansion, Chimera Shadow Garden.

  • Megumi realized that Sukuna's freed fingers had contributed to the surge in cursed spirit attacks and resolved to exorcise the spirit before him to protect Tsumiki.
  • The special grade cursed spirit outmatched Megumi in speed and strength, but he chained attacks from Nue, Max Elephant, and the Well's Unknown Abyss to injure it.
  • The cursed spirit unleashed hidden power, cut through Megumi's shikigami, and broke his ribs with a blow that left him badly wounded.
  • As Megumi began chanting for a taming ritual, Satoru Gojo's advice reminded him to fight more greedily, so he stopped the chant.
  • Megumi activated his incomplete Domain Expansion, Chimera Shadow Garden, engulfing the underground space in shadows.

Ch. 35Brothers of Two Districts

Kechizu and Eso fought Yuji Itadori and Nobara Kugisaki on the highway, but Thousand Fangs intervened after the brothers were badly wounded. The fight ended with Kugisaki gravely injured and Thousand Fangs attacking Itadori and Kechizu.

  • Kugisaki used Resonance through the mingled poisonous blood to hurt Kechizu, while Itadori's poison immunity let him fight without slowing down.
  • Kechizu released his cursed technique to save Eso, and Itadori and Kugisaki struck the brothers with Black Flash.
  • As Kugisaki prepared to finish Eso with Hairpin, Thousand Fangs appeared and slashed her from shoulder to waist.
  • Thousand Fangs threatened to kill Kechizu and Eso for their failure, then charged at Itadori and Kechizu.

Ch. 36The enemy of my enemy is...?

Kenjaku and the cursed spirits debated whether to help the badly injured Thousand Fangs, while Itadori and Kechizu fought him on the road. Kashimo drove Thousand Fangs into the forest, and the group turned to recovering the stolen cursed objects and getting Kugisaki medical help.

  • Kenjaku mocked the charred Thousand Fangs, while Hanami defended helping him and Mahito said his survival was up to him.
  • Thousand Fangs attacked Itadori and Kechizu, biting Itadori to drain his cursed energy and restraining Kechizu with falcon talons.
  • Itadori landed two consecutive Black Flashes that shattered Thousand Fangs' defenses and crushed his chest, but Thousand Fangs healed and began summoning a herd of beasts.
  • Kashimo struck Thousand Fangs with a lightning-charged elbow, sending him fleeing into the forest.
  • Kechizu collapsed, and Kashimo stopped Itadori from killing him, told him to retrieve the stolen cursed objects, and urged him to focus on Kugisaki's injuries.
  • Kashimo called the assistant supervisor and texted Satoru Gojo, who could handle Kechizu and Eso.

Ch. 37A grand game of chess

Choso learned that Yuji Itadori had killed his brothers, while Gojo detained the Death Paintings and questioned Kashimo about his knowledge of Kenjaku’s forces. Meanwhile, Utahime led the first-years to investigate Mechamaru, as Mahito healed Yu Xingji to fulfill a binding vow with Kenjaku.

  • Choso crushed a chess piece after sensing that Kechizu and Eso had died, and Kenjaku’s informant confirmed that Yuji Itadori had killed them.
  • Gojo told Kashimo that he had secretly detained Kechizu and Eso, then questioned him about his detailed knowledge of Kenjaku’s allies.
  • Kashimo left Gojo, saying they would both get their answers, while anticipating contact from Mechamaru.
  • Utahime brought Itadori, Fushiguro, and Kugisaki to Mechamaru’s hidden chamber after identifying him as a suspected source of information for the traitor among the higher-ups.
  • Fushiguro’s Divine Dog and Itadori broke down the chamber door, revealing Yu Xingji in a nutrient-filled bathtub.
  • Kenjaku explained the danger of breaking a binding vow, so Mahito used Idle Transfiguration to heal Yu Xingji and complete their agreement.

Ch. 38The cocoon and the breaking shell

Yu Xingji and Hajime Kashimo sprang a coordinated trap on Mahito and Kenjaku, using Kashimo’s attack to draw Kenjaku into the path of Mechamaru Unit 0’s beams. The chapter ended as Mahito and Kenjaku both began Domain Expansion, just as Yu Xingji and Kashimo had planned.

  • Yu Xingji piloted Mechamaru Unit 0 while Kenjaku reinforced his Curtain and tracked the fight.
  • Hajime Kashimo ambushed Kenjaku, destroyed his grade 1 cursed spirits, and struck him with a sure-hit lightning attack.
  • Kenjaku used the Anti-Gravity Technique to pin Kashimo, but Kashimo revealed he had baited Kenjaku toward Yu Xingji’s attack.
  • Yu Xingji fired Homing Shot: Quintet, and the beams struck Kenjaku and Kashimo after Mahito disrupted the projectiles aimed at him.
  • Mahito and Kenjaku both announced Domain Expansion as Yu Xingji and Kashimo urged them on.

Ch. 39Born of domains, defeated by domains

Kashimo and Yu Xingji tried to exploit a clash between Kenjaku’s and Mahito’s domains to create an opening, but Yu Xingji’s attempt to attack Mahito went wrong. Kashimo saved Yu Xingji from being killed, and the story left them facing the coming Shibuya Incident.

  • Kashimo rejected Yu Xingji’s plan to attack Mahito with Simple Domain syringes and proposed making Kenjaku and Mahito expand their domains at the same time.
  • Mahito expanded Self-Embodiment of Perfection while Kenjaku opened Womb Profusion, and Kenjaku’s domain began breaking Mahito’s barrier.
  • Kenjaku attacked Kashimo instead of choosing between releasing his domain and abandoning Mahito, but Kashimo stabbed him with the Inverted Spear of Heaven and disrupted his control of Suguru Geto’s body.
  • Yu Xingji tried to inject Mahito with his last Simple Domain syringe, but Mahito changed his form and pierced Yu Xingji’s abdomen.
  • Kashimo struck Yu Xingji and Mahito with a lightning attack, destroying Mechamaru Unit Zero and leaving Yu Xingji unconscious but alive.

Ch. 40The end? The beginning!

Kenjaku regrouped after Kashimo disrupted his plans and began considering how to use what he had learned about Cursed Spirit Manipulation for the Culling Game. At Jujutsu High, Shoko explained that Yu Xingji’s recovery had cost him much of his cursed energy, while Gojo and Utahime disagreed over his future; Kashimo’s strength and knowledge remained unanswered questions.

  • Kenjaku concluded that Kashimo had somehow severed his connection to Geto’s body, then decided to continue with the Shibuya plan and use Thousand Fangs as an ally.
  • Kenjaku realized that being forcibly disconnected from Geto’s body had revealed new aspects of Cursed Spirit Manipulation that could help him in the Culling Game.
  • Shoko Ieiri barred visitors from Yu Xingji’s infirmary room and told Gojo and Utahime that his healed heavenly restriction left him with too little cursed energy for extended combat.
  • Gojo suggested adjusting Yu Xingji’s grade, but Utahime objected that returning him to Kyoto could expose him to punishment and harassment.
  • Gojo considered Kashimo’s reported escape from Geto and Mahito and wondered how powerful Kashimo was and how much he knew about Jujutsu Society.
