After returning to 2007, Suguru Geto saved Yu Haibara from the fate he remembered, but absorbed a mysterious presence that grew whenever he consumed cursed spirits. As the Jujutsu Association scrutinized him and Shoko treated his damaged core, Geto remained uncertain whether he would still be himself when the presence hatched.

• Suguru Geto woke in his seventeen-year-old body on August 15, 2007, and resolved to prevent Yu Haibara’s death in Zama.
• Suguru Geto traced a series of disappearances to a Special Grade cursed spirit, then took Satoru Gojo and Yu Haibara to investigate it.
• Suguru Geto shielded Yu Haibara from the cursed spirit’s final attack, and Satoru Gojo pulled Geto free after the spirit fused with him.
• Shoko Ieiri found an unknown presence spreading through Geto’s cursed energy core, while Satoru Gojo promised to help him face it.
• Suguru Geto trained Yu Haibara and continued taking missions, but each cursed spirit he absorbed made the presence grow and show him visions of his older self.
• Masamichi Yaga and Satoru Gojo opposed the Jujutsu Association’s efforts to restrict Geto, while Geto searched the archives for a way to remove the presence.
• Suguru Geto and Satoru Gojo found a theoretical soul-splitting technique, but Gojo could not perform it, and Geto insisted the presence could not wait.
• Suguru Geto defeated a powerful cursed spirit at Mount Asama with his domain and Maximum: Uzumaki, causing the presence to grow before Gojo caught him outside the mine.
• Shoko Ieiri treated Geto’s core and reduced the presence, but the Association evaluated him, suspended his missions, and left him awaiting its assessment as he feared losing himself.

Suguru Geto investigated the conscious Echo growing inside him, uncovered its ties to Ichiro Nakajima and Tokieda, and eventually returned it to Kumano. With Echo gone and his cursed energy restored, Geto settled back into life at Jujutsu High and grew closer to Satoru Gojo.

• Suguru Geto found records of Ichiro Nakajima, whose inner growth had deformed his cursed energy core, then discovered that the Echo was a remnant of a dead cursed spirit that consumed its host’s memories.
• The Association increased its scrutiny of Suguru Geto, but he continued communicating with Echo, named it, and learned that it could share sensations and show him images of the past and possible futures.
• Suguru Geto promised Echo it could stay and did not need to grow, while Satoru Gojo supported him and the Echo gradually shrank as Geto’s core recovered.
• After Association observers restricted his movements, Suguru Geto learned that Echo showed him an iron door and promised to leave Jujutsu High with it once restrictions ended.
• Suguru Geto met Tokieda, who carried another Echo fragment and warned that both halves were disappearing, then investigated missing sorcerers and the Kumano Society’s role in Tokieda’s search for cursed energy.
• Suguru Geto and Satoru Gojo gathered Echo’s scattered fragments, then joined them with Tokieda’s, and Geto absorbed memories of Tokieda’s brother Shigure and took the completed Echo to Kumano.
• Suguru Geto transferred Echo into a black stone at Kumano, and Shoko confirmed that Echo was gone and his cursed energy had returned to normal.
• Suguru Geto resumed missions and daily life with Satoru Gojo, and the two grew closer through shared work, meals, and making miso soup together.
