At first, he simply could not believe such an outrageous conclusion.
He had even suspected for a time that they had long since seen through his pretense of being a spy, and were deliberately feeding him this information to mislead him, all to tear Fairy Tail apart from within!
But as he followed the clues and investigated further, cracks gradually began to appear in his confidence.

Perhaps his subconscious was being swayed by his initial assumptions, or perhaps, because he had always concealed his own identity and never truly integrated himself into the guild, he could not trust his comrades unconditionally the way Natsu and the others did.
Now, he found himself inexplicably worried that this competition, planned entirely by Blanc and involving the position of the next Guild Master, might conceal some ulterior purpose.
And would that purpose be good or bad for the guild?
