Background / History

Awakening during the attempted massacre

The consciousness occupying Sasuke’s body changes shortly before he confronts Itachi. The new occupant remembers the story from a previous life and knows that Itachi intends to kill their parents and clansmen while sparing Sasuke. A private notification supplies the rule that “malice left traces,” allowing conspiracies that have actually occurred to be extracted as evidence 1.

Rather than accept Itachi’s intended revenge narrative, Sasuke exposes a recording of Itachi and Danzo discussing the clan’s extermination. He wakes the compound, directs clansmen to the victims, and orders Itachi’s capture while leading a public march toward the Hokage Building 1 2.

Recognition as clan head

Root attacks the procession before it reaches the Hokage Building. Sasuke detects the ambush, moves civilians under cover, and lets the attackers reveal their purpose before witnesses. Although wounded in the arm, he insists that the operatives be captured alive 3.

At the Old Well, Sasuke uses his newly awarded Yomotsu Hirasaka against Danzo’s sealed consciousness, helping rescue Shinji and recover the Gray-Cord Scroll. Its roster exposes infiltrators in the Military Police. Sasuke subsequently executes Tajima, Kaito, and Sosuke after their interrogation reveals Root’s concealed dungeon and experimental subject 15 17.

Dismantling Root’s political protection

After tracing a paid smear campaign to Root, Sasuke directs raids on its safehouses and presents financial evidence implicating Mitokado Homura and Utatane Koharu. A coalition breach of Root’s vault uncovers stolen clan property, including Hizashi Hyuga’s Byakugan 20 21 23.

Sasuke later helps repel Orochimaru and Root at the Hyuga compound and exposes an explosive plot against the Daimyo’s envoy. Evidence of embezzlement secures the advisors’ dismissal. He then uses an assassination attempt at Training Ground Three to expose Danzo’s transfer of Konoha’s defense map to Orochimaru. Transformation and confrontation with Obito

When Obito enters his study, Sasuke exposes his identity and knowledge of the Nine-Tails’ attack. He rejects appeals to family or the village’s greater good when they are used to excuse killing. His treatment of Itachi is deliberately humiliating: he wants his brother’s justifications dismantled publicly rather than allowing him to retain the image of a tragic protector 13 14 49.

He advocates allowances and compensation for ninja families, yet executes proven clan traitors after their testimony has been recorded.
