After surviving Duen’s attack and beginning alchemy studies, Karin accepted a job operating a merchant ship bound for Howling Fjord to scout Northrend.

• Karin woke in the injured body of Karin Sunfury, concealed his transmigration from Oliver, and learned that the All-Knowing Eye had joined his soul in the Twisting Nether.
• Karin refused Sunwell water, learned to meditate with the All-Knowing Eye’s help, and advanced to the First Ring while developing Frost Armor and Melf's Acid Arrow.
• Karin defeated Enclair in a Mage’s Duel with Melf's Acid Arrow, and Kane Sunfury learned that Karin’s poison could counter troll regeneration.
• Duen attacked Karin to demand a cure for Enclair, but Tiffany stopped him, and Liadrin eased Karin’s Sunwell-induced craving for magic with Hymn of Hope.

Karin sailed to Northrend, explored Utgarde Keep, and returned to Quel'Thalas before being assigned to a Ranger Squad in the Ghostlands. After helping Vereesa expose and defeat a Troll ambush, Karin joined the Farstriders and arrived at Quel'lithien, where Aurora asked for his help.

• Karin joined Bryan Bronzebeard's expedition into Utgarde Keep, learned Ymiron's memories, and escaped with Bryan, Nathanos, and Grybe using a Random Teleportation Scroll.
• Karin returned to Quel'Thalas, reached the second ring, and accepted a conscription assignment to fight Trolls in the Ghostlands.
• Karin joined Vereesa's Ranger Squad, settled a confrontation with Morgan and Brew, and trained the Rangers in spells and combat.
