Ji Hanxing finally got the driver's license he had been looking forward to for so long. However, he did not tell Yan Jinyue the good news. He seemed to be harboring a little plan of his own.
With Xue Hui accompanying him, Ji Hanxing sat in the driver's seat for the first time, both excited and nervous. Gripping the steering wheel tightly, he drove carefully and steadily toward the Yan Group.
When the car arrived outside the Yan Group building, Ji Hanxing was about to say something, but Xue Hui seemed to have already seen through his thoughts.
Xue Hui gave him a knowing smile and said softly, "President Ji, I have something to attend to over there, so I'll get going."
Without waiting for Ji Hanxing to answer, Xue Hui quickly got out of the car, even giving him a wink as though hinting at something.
Watching Xue Hui, Ji Hanxing's lips twitched. Assistant Xue has certainly been getting livelier lately. With so much energy, he must be handling his recent workload with ease. Once things here are finished, I'll put him in charge of the off-site project too.
"Oh, have you arranged everything I asked you to?"
Xue Hui made an "OK" sign. "Rest assured, President Ji. Everything is ready!"
With that, he flagged down a car and took off.
Ji Hanxing blinked. If Xue Hui did a good job, he would give him another raise.
As he thought about it, he took out his phone and called Yan Jinyue.
The call connected quickly, and Yan Jinyue's voice came through. "Hello?"
There was a hint of anticipation in Ji Hanxing's voice. "Busy man, are you off work yet?"
Yan Jinyue chuckled. "If President Ji is inviting me out, I can certainly leave work."
