A beam of five-colored radiance descended from the portal like a soft ribbon, gently wrapping around the black crystal.
Qing Chen did not even use his Divine Sense. He watched without blinking.
Wrapped in the radiance, the crystal slowly rose, approaching the portal at the pagoda's base inch by inch.
Just as the crystal was about to enter the portal-
"Ding!" The Treasure Pagoda shuddered slightly!
The five-colored radiance suddenly expanded, enveloping the entire crystal in an instant! Its light even stung Qing Chen's eyes, making them ache!
The True Blood within Qing Chen surged, and he hurriedly narrowed his eyes for a closer look.
Within the radiance, the black crystal was trembling violently.
The fine patterns on its surface, previously utterly lifeless, now lit up wildly! Streaks of dark light raced madly through the patterns, like a final struggle before death!
But it was useless. The radiance contracted and tightened as though chewing-
"Crack!" A crisp snap rang out.
The crystal that Qing Chen had been unable to use despite trying everything was practically a block of tofu before the radiance. It dissolved outright!
Yes, it was just like dissolving, but the essence inside was held fast by the radiance, unable to escape in the slightest.
Then came, "Crack, crack, crack, crack-"
A dense barrage of shattering sounds erupted like beans popping! In the blink of an eye, it turned into countless tiny points of light!
The densely packed motes surged and churned within the radiance like a river of stars hanging upside down!
That tremendous energy, those fluctuations Qing Chen had coveted so much, were finally released! They were utterly unlike any power he knew.
