The Sovereigns spread the Power of Faith, simplifying the laws into magic and disseminating it throughout the major Material Planes. But they soon discovered that some creatures occupying the Material Planes simply did not meet their need to obtain large amounts of Power of Faith.
Such creatures generally possessed great individual strength and long lifespans. Even if they could generate Power of Faith, their physiological limitation of reproducing with difficulty meant they could not make up the difference in numbers.
Some living beings reproduced quickly, such as rats and other low-level Magical Beasts. But their intelligence was generally low, and they did not produce much Power of Faith. Taking advantage of this opportunity as the Sovereigns spread their faith, the human race began stepping onto the stage of the various Material Planes.
