In this all-out strike, Lucas used Wielding Something Light as Though It Were Heavy, which he had already comprehended.

Sure enough, his sweeping strike cut through the pack. The first Wind Wolf it struck had its skull smashed open, as did the second. Although the force diminished after that, the blow still achieved something. It drove back the wolves charging at him!

This strike bought him time. Now it was his turn to charge at the wolf king. The wolf king had understood what Lucas intended as soon as he stopped his charge, but unfortunately, its subordinates had already rushed out.

Only one wolf remained beside it now, so it knew it was time to act. It charged at Lucas, and Lucas thrust out his weapon. He found that the wolf king was clever too, deliberately lagging behind the wolf beside it.

Lucas's thrust struck that wolf in the head. His belly was left exposed to the wolf king's attack, and it lunged in and bit him.

After landing, Lucas immediately rolled across the ground. He could not worry about how undignified he looked now. After the clash, the pack surrounded him again.

Only then did Lucas look down at his belly. Fortunately, he was wearing the armor he had made for himself. Steel rings protected his abdomen, but the Wind Wolf King had still pierced them with a single attack.

Lucas understood that even though he had forged his armor in Master Drake's smithing workshop, it was made from ordinary iron ore, after all. Even after being hammered and refined countless times, it still could not withstand attacks from magic beasts like this.

Blocking one attack from a level six magic beast was already quite good. Lucas estimated that it could block one more blow for him. After that, it would be useless. He could also feel that after the wolf king's teeth pierced his protection, they had scratched his belly. Fortunately, they had not torn it open!

Taking advantage of this opening, Lucas got a clear look at the situation. His first sweeping strike had killed two wolves outright and injured three. With the wolf he had just killed, only seven remained around him now. Four retained their full fighting strength, while the other three probably had less than half of theirs left.

Lucas threw caution aside and charged again, heading toward the injured wolves. The wolf king thought he intended to kill them.

The other four uninjured wolves quickly charged again as Lucas rushed over. Having already suffered one of Lucas's blows, the injured wolves had naturally grown afraid.

They instinctively retreated, which was exactly what Lucas wanted. China's culture was vast and profound, and the Thirty-Six Stratagems were exquisitely ingenious. Besieging a position to strike its reinforcements suited this situation perfectly, so Lucas repeated his old trick. He turned midway and unleashed another sweeping strike, killing two more wolves and injuring two.

At this point, only the wolf king remained unscathed. All the other wolves were injured. Seeing this, the wolf king had no choice but to enter the fight itself.

It still ordered the remaining injured wolves to charge Lucas. Although the other wolves attacked under the pressure of its authority, their instinctive fear of death affected them. They held back in their attacks, and now they too began weighing the situation.

They would watch what the wolf king chose to do. If it could kill Lucas, they would continue submitting to its rule. If Lucas defeated it, they would flee for their lives.

By this point, Lucas also understood that as long as the wolf king's mate did not arrive before he killed it, he would win!

Naturally, Lucas was even less inclined to waste time. He charged over and fought the wolf king. The other wolves stopped attacking, but they still surrounded Lucas, blocking his escape routes!

The two strikes in which Lucas had just used Wielding Something Light as Though It Were Heavy had consumed most of his Battle Qi. What remained was not enough to unleash another strike incorporating Wielding Something Light as Though It Were Heavy.

However, his physical strength was also at level five, so he could still execute an attack using Wielding Something Light as Though It Were Heavy through physical strength alone. It simply would not be as powerful as an attack using Battle Qi. But now he was targeting the wolf king alone, rather than attacking a group as he had with those two earlier blows!

Two exchanges later, the wolf king bit the armor over Lucas's belly again. But Lucas killed it outright with a strike using Wielding Something Light as Though It Were Heavy.

Seeing Lucas kill the wolf king, the remaining injured wolves scattered and fled. Lucas had no strength left to spare on killing them. Instead, he simply ran in the direction the baboons had taken.

Lucas had listened after the baboons left. So far, no more baboon howls had come from that direction, which meant it was safe for the moment.

Two hours after Lucas left, the other wolf king arrived at the battlefield with her subordinates. Several male Wind Wolves already at the peak of level five grew restless. Without the male level six Wind Wolf King to keep them in check, they too had a chance to become the wolf king, and the level six Wind Wolf King's Magic Beast Core before them was also an opportunity.

Only by devouring the wolf king's Magic Beast Core could these level five Wind Wolves become level six Wind Wolf Kings.

The level six female Wind Wolf King clearly possessed some authority as well. After she roared several times, she gradually suppressed the other Wind Wolves' unrest. Unfortunately, she could not remain beside her husband for long.

She also understood that she needed to find another territory. Without her other half working alongside her, she could not hold this one. She needed to find another solitary level six male Wind Wolf.

The Wind Wolf King howled, and several female wolves followed her away. Most of the males chose to stay, because they wanted to fight over the Magic Beast Core inside the former wolf king's corpse.

But none of this had anything to do with Lucas, who had already left. He had, at least, removed this potential threat to his tribe. Although he understood that nature in any universe would soon establish a new balance, at least his tribe would be safe for a while.

Naturally, Lucas felt at ease and headed east, the direction he had chosen earlier, without worry. He had learned something from his elders about the orientation of the surrounding Hemonxi Mountains: they too ran east to west. Heading east would ensure that he did not venture deep into the mountains' interior.

The deeper one went into any mountain range, the more high-level magic beasts there were. That also meant greater danger. Lucas was only a fledgling level five warrior. Naturally, he would not foolishly rush headlong into the territory of high-level magic beasts to throw his life away.
