Background
Tang Tianlin is a transmigrator born into the Clear Sky Sect’s main family as Tang Xiao’s biological son. Both of his parents possess the Clear Sky Hammer Martial Soul. His initial system grants him a Tang Wulin template, then remains silent for years 1.
The system later reactivates as the Strongest Sect System. Recruiting talented members or strengthening the Clear Sky Sect unlocks template abilities and rewards, including Soul Rings and Soul Bones. Tang Tianlin consequently seeks out Tang Hao and Tang San as his first major opportunities to rebuild the sect 1.
Appearance
- Build: Tall and slender in his earlier appearances; reaches 1.95 meters after the five-year time skip 20 27.
- Features: Black hair, dark eyes, handsome features, and a noble bearing with a melancholy air. He tells Tang Hao that he resembles his mother more than his father 1 11 20.
- Bloodline activation: Develops golden dragon scales and slit pupils; these recede when he withdraws his power 4 10 11.
- Golden Dragon Wings: Golden, long-spanned wings whose scales resemble flowing lava 37.
Personality
Tang Tianlin is confident, irreverent, and calculating. He remains composed under Tang Hao’s killing intent, embellishes the sect’s hardships to pressure him into action, and changes to reassurance when Tang Hao begins to despair. With his father, he is openly teasing and readily asks for money and cultivation resources 1 22 23.
He takes an active, protective role toward Tang San. He stops Tang Hao from striking him again, guides his cultivation, challenges advice he considers harmful, and intervenes when Zhao Wuji threatens him. His expectations are demanding: he encourages Tang San to aim beyond defeating opponents of the same rank and later requires his juniors to fight a Soul Beast without Soul Skills 2 5 13 18 42 45.
His generosity also serves the sect’s long-term interests. He offers the Ye Family protection without sacrificing its independence and prefers recruiting Dugu Bo to killing him. He welcomes others absorbing the energy released by his breakthroughs because he regards them as future pillars of the Clear Sky Sect 11 30 37.
The Golden Dragon King bloodline creates impulses he must restrain, including possessiveness, heightened desire, and destructive emotional instability during prolonged combat. He repeatedly suppresses these influences through willpower and Soul Power; Ice Dragon Spirit Body later provides a direct countermeasure to his battle frenzy 11 36 38.
Abilities & Skills
Golden Dragon Clear Sky Hammer
His inherited Clear Sky Hammer evolves under the Golden Dragon King’s influence, gaining tremendous weight and a destructive rending effect 3 4.
- Appearance: A dark-gold hammer with a long handle, diamond-shaped scale patterns, a dragon-headed hammerhead, and red crystals at both ends 3.
- Weight: Dozens of times heavier than an ordinary Clear Sky Hammer 4.
- First Soul Skill — Golden Dragon Shock Strike: Envelops the hammer in dark-gold flames for a heavy strike. At approximately seventy percent strength, it leaves a shallow wound on Tang Hao’s palm despite Tang Tianlin still being a Soul Grandmaster 4.
- Demonstrated force: Shatters Dugu Bo’s giant-python attack and Jade Phosphor Guardian before striking the Titled Douluo hard enough to make him cough blood 28 29.
Golden Dragon King Bloodline
The bloodline supplies physical strength, dragon scales, claws, draconic pressure, and a separate series of Blood Qi Soul Rings 1 4 14 38.
- Golden Dragon Body: A bloodline enhancement that covers his body in golden scales and sharply raises his combat power 4 28.
- Golden Dragon Roar: Unlocked by breaking the fifth and sixth seals 15.
- Bloodline suppression: Frightens a Holy Dragon Sect attacker’s Martial Soul into withdrawing its possession. After his third Blood Qi ring, he considers his aura sufficient to overwhelm Soul Masters below Soul King without attacking 10 15.
- Golden Dragon Wings: Provide high-speed flight after his fourth Blood Qi ring 37.
- Spiritual growth: Breaking the bloodline seals also strengthens his spiritual power 32.
- Resource demand: Bloodline breakthroughs require enormous quantities of blood energy, including ten-thousand-year natural treasures even at the Soul Grandmaster stage 3 13.
- Risk: Full-force use can provoke frenzy or loss of control without adequate safeguards 38.
Child of Nature and Nature Domain
Child of Nature grants the favor of nature and the plane, accelerates cultivation, and establishes an affinity with Soul Beasts and sentient plants 3 6 9 32.
- Cultivation: Draws surrounding Soul Power toward him during meditation, greatly shortening the time needed to reach rank thirty 6 7.
- Soul Beast cooperation: Persuades the Dragon-Patterned Vine to sacrifice itself to Tang San. Together with his dragon bloodline, helps secure the Dark Gold Ironclad Ant’s willing sacrifice 9 16.
- Aura concealment: Hides Xiao Wu’s hundred-thousand-year Soul Beast aura so she can enter the Clear Sky Sect 21 24.
- Nature Domain: Searches a wide area of Sunset Forest to locate the poison miasma around the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well 27.
- Plant affinity: Immortal herbs respond to his aura and are more willing to be absorbed by him 32.
Life Blessing and Life Force
Life Blessing protects his body and divine soul, while his Life Force repairs damage and reconciles conflicting powers 12 14 25.
- Seal-breaking protection: An emerald halo repairs cracks in his skin while violent dragon power threatens his body 14.
- Soul Bone fusion: Harmonizes the Dark Gold Dreadclaw Left Palm Bone with his bloodline, preventing the two powers from erupting against each other 25.
- Breakthrough aftereffects: Releases golden-green vitality that revives vegetation, improves Tang San’s Martial Souls, and heals more than half of Tang Hao’s chronic injuries 14.
- Later energy release: His fourth Blood Qi ring breakthrough produces another wave that nearby allies absorb for cultivation and Martial Soul improvement 37.
Dark Gold Tyrant Body
His third Martial Soul skill, obtained from the Dark Gold Ironclad Ant, is a short-duration enhancement 17.
- Increases all attributes by 100%, with an additional 30% strength increase 17.
- Lasts approximately sixty seconds 17.
- Used alongside Golden Dragon Body during his confrontation with Dugu Bo 28.
- The ant’s preserved soul remains visible within the ring; Tang Tianlin intends to use it both to draw out the ring’s power and cultivate a fearless fighter 17.
Dark Gold Dreadclaw
The Dark Gold Dreadclaw Left Palm Bone produces five dark-gold claws, each approximately two feet long 25.
- Grants Rend, Armor Break, and Limit Burst 21 25.
- Can unleash a powerful slashing attack after fusion with his Golden Dragon King bloodline 25.
Ice and Fire Golden Body
Tang Tianlin awakens this physique after descending into the extreme pressure and temperatures of the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well 33.
- Builds upon his already strong resistance to ice and fire 33.
- His bloodline, Child of Nature, and Life Blessing allow him to endure medicinal energies that would overwhelm an ordinary Soul Master 32.
Ice-Fire Dragon’s Sorrow
His million-year fifth Soul Ring grants a domain covering a thousand-meter radius, divided between Ultimate Ice and Ultimate Fire 33 38.
- Increases the power of his ice and fire elements by 200% 38.
- Allows him to transform his body into elements after being attacked, becoming immune to physical attacks while in that state 38.
- Lets him appear anywhere inside the domain with a thought, with no cooldown stated for this movement 38.
- Applies weakening effects to enemies and strengthens his summoned Dragon King phantoms 38.
Dragon King Soul Bone Skills
Each million-year leg Soul Bone grants two skills, expanding his ranged offense, defense, and battlefield control 38.
| Soul Bone | Skill | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Fire Dragon King’s right leg bone | Red Dragon Burns the Heavens | Compresses Ultimate Fire into a golden-red dragonflame projectile at his foot. Its power increases with charging time 38. |
| Fire Dragon King’s right leg bone | Blazing Flame Dragon King | Summons a combat phantom with 70% of his strength, specializing in explosive power and forceful attacks 38. |
| Ice Dragon King’s left leg bone | Ice Dragon Spirit Body | Grants immunity to negative effects involving control, slowing, burning, and poison; accelerates Soul Power and blood qi circulation by 40% 38. |
| Ice Dragon King’s left leg bone | Extreme Cold Dragon King | Summons a combat phantom with 70% of his strength, emphasizing control and defensive support 38. |
- Ice Heart State: Ice Dragon Spirit Body suppresses his emotions and counters the Golden Dragon King’s destabilizing influence. Its safeguard depends on him not willingly allowing his soul to sink into oblivion 38.
- Domain synergy: Both Dragon King phantoms become stronger inside Ice-Fire Dragon’s Sorrow 38.
Cultivation Guidance
- Identifies Tang San’s hidden second Martial Soul from the apparent contradiction between Blue Silver Grass and Innate Full Soul Power 2.
- Explains the need to strengthen the weaker of twin Martial Souls first and recommends developing Blue Silver Grass’s life attribute rather than duplicating the Clear Sky Hammer’s offensive role 5 7 8.
- Selects suitable Soul Rings and uses physical preparation to help Tang San withstand an unusually old first ring 8 9.
- Tests Tang San, Xiao Wu, and Dugu Yan’s fundamentals by forbidding Soul Skills during their fight with a three-thousand-year Man Faced Demon Spider 45.
Equipment & Items
- Clear Sky Sect master’s token: A black-and-gold token engraved with a hammer. Establishes his authority before Tang Hao and is used when formally recruiting Tang San 1 3.
- Storage Soul Tool: Worn at his waist; stores food, cultivation materials, and other possessions 2 13 50.
- Seal-breaking treasures: Consumes Ten-Thousand-Year Dragon Essence Fruit, Dragon Bone Flower, and Dragon Blood Ganoderma to condense his third Blood Qi Soul Ring 14.
- Sweet Potato Golden Dragon herbs: Adds a drop of his blood to each before using them to help evolve the Dugu family’s Martial Souls 35 36.
- Golden Dragon King Remnant Soul Fragment: A system reward for Dugu Bo’s wholehearted allegiance to the Clear Sky Sect 35.
- Hundred-Thousand-Year Dragon Heart Fruit: Offers it as the prize for Er Ming if Tang Tianlin loses their strength contest 50.

- Ye Cixin — Rescued Ye Family head and direct subordinate. Accepts his protection on the condition that she and her daughter answer to him personally rather than the sect leadership 11.

Story Role / Major Arcs
Holy Soul Village and Tang San’s Recruitment
Tang Tianlin visits Tang Hao’s smithy and proves his identity with the sect master’s token. After confronting him over the Clear Sky Sect’s decline, he reassures him that Tang Xiao supports his return. When Tang San reveals twin Martial Souls, Tang Tianlin admits him into the sect under his authority as young master 1 2 3.
He then demonstrates the Golden Dragon Clear Sky Hammer against Tang Hao. Impressed by his nephew’s power, Tang Hao agrees to gather the rare resources needed for his cultivation and leaves Tang San in his care 4.
Nuoding Academy and the First Sunset Forest Expedition
Tang Tianlin keeps Yu Xiaogang from becoming Tang San’s master and guides his cousin toward cultivating Blue Silver Grass first. During their Soul Ring expedition, he arranges the Dragon-Patterned Vine’s sacrifice, helping awaken signs of Tang San’s Blue Silver Emperor bloodline 5 7 8 9.
On their return, the cousins rescue Ye Cixin and Ye Lingling from Holy Dragon Sect pursuers. Tang Tianlin recruits them, promises assistance with revenge and a medical clinic, and sends them to Heaven Dou City with a token for Moonlight Pavilion 9 11 12.
Bloodline Breakthrough and Return to the Sect
With Tang Hao guarding him, Tang Tianlin breaks the fifth and sixth Golden Dragon King seals. The released vitality strengthens Tang San’s Martial Souls and substantially heals Tang Hao. He subsequently receives the Dark Gold Ironclad Ant’s sacrifice and preserves its soul 13 14 15 16 17.
Before returning home, he recruits Xiao Wu and conceals her Soul Beast aura. He brings her and Tang San into the Clear Sky Sect, reports Tang Hao’s whereabouts to Tang Xiao, and later fuses his rewarded External Soul Bone 21 22 25.
Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well
After five years at the sect, Tang Tianlin leads Tang San and Xiao Wu to Sunset Forest in search of heavenly treasures. He locates the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, clears a path through its poisonous miasma, and defeats Dugu Bo when the Titled Douluo refuses them access 27 28 29.
Rather than kill Dugu Bo, he pursues his recruitment through treatment of the Dugu family’s poison. Within the spring, Tang Tianlin encounters the Ice and Fire Dragon Kings, receives their sacrifice, and obtains his million-year fifth ring and leg Soul Bones. He then helps evolve Dugu Bo and Dugu Yan’s Martial Souls and condenses his fourth Blood Qi Soul Ring 30 33 35 36 37.
Shrek Confrontation and Star Dou Great Forest
Tang Tianlin intervenes when Zhao Wuji attacks Tang San, knocking him unconscious with one punch. He later demands payment from Dai Mubai and Ma Hongjun to reduce the severity of their punishment, then knocks both unconscious before leaving 42 44 45.
In the Star Dou Great Forest, he supervises Dugu Yan’s fourth-ring hunt and the group’s battle with a Man Faced Demon Spider. After her absorption grants the Eight Spider Lances, he detects a powerful approaching presence and places himself in front of the younger Soul Masters 45 48.
When Xiao Wu reveals her Soul Beast identity, Tang Tianlin explains that Tang San is also half Soul Beast through his mother. He then challenges Er Ming to a one-punch strength contest, staking a hundred-thousand-year Dragon Heart Fruit against the right to make one request. The contest’s outcome is not shown in the provided chapters 50.
