Just then, a figure came flying swiftly through the air.
"Master!"
It was Meng Chenyu.
"Oh, it's you, Chen Yu."
Mu Yanyan's face darkened. "Why have you come running out again instead of staying home and cultivating properly?"
"Master." Meng Chenyu bit her lip. "I'd like to speak with you. There's something important I need your help with."
"Oh?"
Mu Yanyan turned her head. "Nian'er, keep Yan'er company while she looks around. I'm going to have a private word with your junior sister."
"Yes, Master."
Zuo Xiaonian agreed, then smiled at Meng Chenyu, her manner no different whatsoever from before.
Meng Chenyu gazed intently at Zuo Xiaonian for a moment before leaving with Mu Yanyan.
Gu Luoyan and Zuo Xiaonian continued strolling along the river.
"Xiao Nian, why didn't your junior sister come along with us?"
There was something rather meaningful in Gu Luoyan's question.
Zuo Xiaonian said calmly, "My junior sister is the cherished daughter of the Meng Group's chairman. Things haven't been very peaceful at the Meng Group lately. She's been helping out at home and really hasn't had time to come out with us. I imagine she isn't in the mood for sightseeing either."
Gu Luoyan nodded. "I see. Actually, I was rather surprised when Aunt Mu suddenly invited me out today. From what I know of her, she isn't the sort to go sightseeing."
Zuo Xiaonian's gentle smile remained unchanged as she said softly, "That's because the bond between you and my master is different."

After saying this, Gu Luoyan immediately added, "They say there's a lake on either side, each setting off the other's charm. Let's go see whether the scenery is very different."
