Roughly two months earlier, the main body of players had finally reached the outskirts of the Sea of Abundance.
Here, however, they encountered another new problem.
Green Island, Corpse Island, and Burning Island would rapidly spiral out of control upon contact with the waters of the Abundant Sea, exhibiting such changes as expanding landmass, wildly growing vegetation, large numbers of wild Limb Spiders spawning, and increasingly fierce fires.
At any other time, this might not have been quite so serious.
But in the Sea of Abundance, the nutrients and energy sustaining those vigorously growing plants and Limb Spiders, those blazing fires... actually all came from the milky-white seawater.
As a result, those plants and Limb Spiders soon took on the characteristics of the Sea of Abundance as well, becoming intensely aggressive, mainly in terms of appetite, before gradually transforming into Rotting Whales themselves. Creatures resembling Gluttons even appeared on Corpse Island, proving extremely troublesome and causing enormous destruction on the island.
The scorched smell released by Burning Island's fires became unexpectedly pleasant, like incense with a sweet fragrance. Not only were the flames fierce, but they also made people unable to resist wanting to jump into them.
After steering these islands out of the Abundant Sea, the players expended considerable effort before they managed to suppress the anomalies that had appeared on them.
Corpse Island was the most dangerous of the lot. That out-of-control monster resembling a Feast Glutton was only truly eliminated when Galahad intervened.
Corpse Island had even doubled in volume.
After that, they abandoned the idea of having Green Island, Burning Island, and Corpse Island pass directly through the Sea of Abundance. Yet they could not do without the strength of these three islands when attacking Salt Island, especially Green Island, which was an important source of
