"What kind of monster is this?"
The Deathbirth Society Captain paused the footage, slowed it down, and watched it over and over, but still had no idea.
"Captain, could this be that Paladin?"
The subordinate watching the footage beside him offered a guess.
"Probably not...?"
The ulcerated skin beneath the captain's mask creased, but once the words left his mouth, he lost confidence again.
In the past, he would certainly have thought it impossible, but now that there was the precedent of the Giant Knight, it seemed perfectly normal for Paladins to look a little strange from now on. After all, they had mutated organs inside them.
This was a special transplantation technique that allowed mutated organs harvested from Polluters to be transplanted.
Behind this seemingly simple technique lay a whole series of supporting technologies, such as techniques for preserving mutated organs, harvesting Polluter organs, and the corresponding modifications to the human body.
The Deathbirth Society had quite advanced technology of its own, but they knew none of these techniques that the Radiant Holy Church possessed. They even found them inconceivable.
Had they not discovered the Crystal Source-the Giant Knight-they would probably still have thought the Radiant Holy Church was a powerful religious organization that would not develop such cutting-edge technology.
This could also be considered their stereotype of fanatical religious organizations. After all, there were several such groups, often shouting baffling things about fire, burning, and power, and making a complete mess of the scene.
Fortunately, they had stopped cooperating with those lunatics two thousand years ago.
The Deathbirth Society was completely different. They were not a religious organization, nor did they worship any gods.
If they had to describe themselves, they should be an environmental protection organization, whose purpose was to curb the spread of the Death Plague
