The Death Plague Sea.
A rocket was hurtling toward Deathbirth Star at astonishing speed, trailing a long plume of flame. It kept accelerating, even leaving a lingering trail of black smoke in the air.
Under normal circumstances, however, a rocket would not accelerate indefinitely. Once it reached the required speed, it would maintain that speed and enter a steady ascent.
But this rocket was different. It was still accelerating!
Moreover, its rear thruster had already melted into viscous molten iron, which evaporated before it could drip away.
Without the thruster to constrain it, the rocket blasted an even thicker, more powerful plume of flame from its rear. Its speed surged further, and even the entire rocket began showing signs of melting and breaking apart.
Inside the rocket's transport cabin.
All thirteen elders of the Fire Worship Cult had realized something was wrong, but Victor was the only one who understood rockets.
In theory, this rocket was controlled by a preset program, and its acceleration phase should have lasted around 500 seconds, usually with a margin of error of no more than two seconds.
Yet this time, it had been flying for almost fifteen minutes and was still picking up speed.
"Why is this happening? Why does the rocket keep accelerating?"
Victor asked in bewilderment, his mind racing through calculations.
If the rocket kept accelerating, then even at Deathbirth Star's altitude before its fall-twenty-five thousand kilometers-the total flight time would not exceed twenty minutes. They were almost there already.
But why did the rocket keep accelerating?
Victor could not figure it out, no matter how hard he thought.
"Are you stupid?
"It must be because the Grand Elder's firepower is too strong!
"Hurry up and tell him to ease off, or this rocket will melt and fall apart!" another elder said.
