Ch. 821The self-nominated deputy director

After the battle ended, Yang Yi arranged help for the wounded and met Haken, a Skeleton Doctor who sought an official position on Steam Island. Yang Yi appointed him deputy director of the new hospital, where Haken proposed medical insurance to attract residents.

  • The Tooth Beasts stopped moving after Mother was locked in the Core Factory, and the players withdrew to Steam Island.
  • Zhao Tie reported the battle to Shen Guanquan and asked Yang Yi to provide prosthetics for the seriously wounded Green Island players; Yang Yi agreed.
  • Haken introduced himself to Yang Yi and asked to lead Steam Island's planned medical institution.
  • Yang Yi said Seerte would be the hospital director, then appointed Haken deputy director.
  • Haken proposed medical insurance and discounted fees to attract Steam Island residents, impressing Yang Yi.

Ch. 822The approaching storm

Yang Yi agreed to help Haken regain a human body by capturing Corpse Island and using its race-changing function. As Steam Island neared completion, Yang Yi learned that a storm had trapped Seerte’s Shelter in the Storm Sea and suspected the Wind Fly was nearby, so he prepared to confront it.

  • Haken asked Yang Yi to restore his original human body, and Yang Yi said he could change races after they captured Corpse Island.
  • Steam Island’s upgraded factory greatly increased production as the island continued drilling toward the surface.
  • Yang Yi displayed the Great Newspaper at the scheduled time and arranged for Seerte to handle construction of the Central Hospital and Shelter.
  • Seerte told Yang Yi that a powerful storm was preventing her Shelter from reaching the rendezvous point, and Yang Yi realized it was the Storm Sea.
  • Yang Yi warned Su Na that a Wind Fly was likely nearby and set out to deal with it because the Shelter was in danger.

Ch. 823Shattering the storm

Yang Yi left the Shelter to confront the Wind Fly, hoping to weaken the storm and give the ship a chance to escape. He charged up the Wind Fly’s water column in Flame Giant form and struck it with Flame Shatter Slash, breaking the column and drawing a familiar wail.

  • Yang Yi swam out of the Fang Leviathan and learned through Seerte that the storm was driving the Shelter deeper into danger.
  • Yang Yi told Seerte to sail against the wind and set out to intercept the Wind Fly, then assured Su Na he would try to weaken the storm.
  • Yang Yi rode the rising currents toward the Wind Fly as his Sharkskin Swimsuit transformed into black armor.
  • Yang Yi entered the water column in Flame Giant form and used Flame Shatter Slash, breaking the column and making the Wind Fly wail.

Ch. 824Shattering the Storm, Part Two

Yang Yi fought the Wind Fly's growing number of mimetic heads, learning that their suction was a form of gravitational force. After using One Hundred Magic Guns to turn the heads to salt, he escaped underwater and headed to reunite with everyone.

  • Yang Yi severed a Wind Fly mimetic head's siphon tube, weakening the wind and giving the Shelter a chance to flee.
  • The Wind Fly repeatedly sucked Yang Yi into its mimetic heads, and he fought back while realizing that the force pulling him in was likely gravity.
  • Yang Yi destroyed several mimetic heads, but new ones grew from intact tubes, increasing their number to twelve as his stamina ran low.
  • Yang Yi learned that the Shelter was escaping the Storm Sea and Steam Island was traveling underwater toward safety.
  • Yang Yi fired One Hundred Magic Guns at the twelve mimetic heads, turning them and their tubes to salt, then escaped into the sea and continued underwater toward a new location.

Ch. 825Rebuilding Steam Island

Yang Yi returned to the Shelter after fighting the Wind Fly, ate, inspected the spoils, and slept for ten hours. After waking, he learned from Su Na that the Song of Creation had badly damaged the Nightmare Star and her laboratory, so he gave her three hundred million to cover repairs.

  • Yang Yi returned to the Shelter, where Seerte welcomed him in a new robot body and prepared a huge meal.
  • Yang Yi examined three Siphon Tubes, Wind Fly flesh, broken pipes, and a burned mimicry head that he had salvaged from the battle.
  • Yang Yi woke after ten hours of sleep, noted that dreams seemed to have disappeared, and asked Seerte for directions to a training room.
  • Su Na arrived with Xiaoji and the smaller Abyss Nautilus, then told Yang Yi that the Song of Creation had damaged the Nightmare Star and her laboratory.
  • Yang Yi gave Su Na three hundred million to repair her laboratory after learning that the Long-Legged Sardine Tree had gone berserk and the Abyss Nautilus had been parasitized by plants.

Ch. 826Rebuilding Steam Island II

Yang Yi and Su Na assessed their growth after the Wind Fly battle, then reached Steam Island and inspected its reconstruction. Yang Yi left Seerte to explore and went to the Nightmare Star to test the Hunt effect.

  • Yang Yi gave Su Na the Wind Fly flesh and other materials, and she showed him her status panel with her newly strengthened Witch Body.
  • Yang Yi hurried to train in the Shelter after seeing how much Su Na had grown.
  • The Shelter reached Steam Island, where Yang Yi used Three Eyes to inspect its new weapons, robots, and plans for a larger, layered structure.
  • Yang Yi docked the Shelter with Steam Island and led everyone inside, where construction was still underway and the One-Eye Cult's designers argued over their church site.
  • Yang Yi sent Seerte to find Haken and went to the Nightmare Star to test the Hunt effect.

Ch. 827Building Steam Island, Part Three

Yang Yi tested the Wind Fly’s Hunt trophies, considered using its mimic head to lure the Storm King into a future battle, and distributed the spoils from a giant Mimic he caught while fishing. He then called Banks to help enlarge the Fool’s Short Sword.

  • Yang Yi found that the Wind Fly’s mimic head could suppress storms but would summon the Storm King if mocked, and he stored it after considering a possible future ambush.
  • Yang Yi saw injured players fishing in Steam Island’s Inner Harbor and left them there rather than risk sending them outside.
  • Three days later, Yang Yi caught a giant Mimic with the Abyss Claw, had the Man-Beating Man robots kill it, and shared its spoils with the anglers.
  • Yang Yi kept one Mimic tooth to test its Hunt effect and turned the rest of the catch into magic stones for distribution.
  • Yang Yi summoned Banks to help enhance the Fool’s Short Sword, choosing to make it bigger.

Ch. 828Building Steam Island, Part Four

Yang Yi forged the Hero-level Fool's Greatsword and accidentally tested its expansion by punching a hole through Steam Island. He then went to the Shelter to check the hospital preparations before the wounded were transferred from Green Island.

  • Yang Yi and Banks forged the Fool's Greatsword, which could expand dramatically and make scratched objects smell delicious.
  • Yang Yi tried the weapon's enlargement feature, causing it to stretch more than two thousand meters through Steam Island; robots were the only ones injured, and Yang Yi covered the losses.
  • Yang Yi told Steam Island's players that no creature had invaded and that the damage came from testing his weapon.
  • Yang Yi reviewed Steam Island's construction and incubation work, noting that new factories were being built and more creations were entering production.
  • Yang Yi visited the Shelter's hospital, summoned Director Seerte and Deputy Director Haken, and asked about preparations to transfer the wounded from Green Island in two days.

Ch. 829Weeding Plan

Yang Yi and Shen Guanquan coordinated to identify Plant People after First Aid Sweetheart exposed an infiltrator among the wounded. Green Island and Steam Island then carried out the Weeding Plan, destroying more than a thousand Plant People and distributing a mild Herbicide that helped remove the threat.

  • First Aid Sweetheart detected a Plant Person among the wounded and killed it, prompting Yang Yi to warn Shen Guanquan about the infiltration.
  • Shen Guanquan explained that Plant People could be difficult to identify and asked to borrow First Aid Sweetheart for screening; Yang Yi agreed once more Nurse Miss units were available.
  • A Plant Person tried to persuade Shen Guanquan to join them, but Forest Spear killed the intruder while Shen Guanquan rejected their cause.
  • Green Island and Steam Island launched the Weeding Plan, destroying more than twenty Plant Person groups and cremating over a thousand people.
  • Green Island began producing an Exceptional Potion Herbicide, and drinks made with diluted Herbicide became popular across the island.

Ch. 830The Expansion of the Sea of Miracles

Ma Dabao returned to Steam Island with the remaining One-Eye Cult Archbishops and reported on the Radiant Holy Church’s occupation of the Sea of Miracles. Yang Yi learned that the Church was pushing into the Sea of No Light and suspected the Radiant Goddess wanted more worshippers to break free from the Gate of Glory.

  • Ma Dabao arrived on Steam Island with the One-Eye Cult Archbishops, confirming that no loyal Archbishops remained in the Sea of Miracles.
  • Ma Dabao handed Su Na several corpses, heads, and a damaged Radiant Goddess Statue for study in the Witch Laboratory.
  • Ma Dabao told Yang Yi that many Players had joined the Radiant Holy Church and were counted as dead by the system, while daylight in the Sea of Miracles now lasted at least twelve hours and reached twenty-four hours farther in.
  • Ma Dabao described a battle with a fleet led by three Radiant Archbishops, which he diverted into a three-way fight with the Golden Commerce Guild before escaping.
  • Yang Yi concluded that the Radiant Goddess might be seeking more Believers to gain enough power to break free from the Gate of Glory.

Ch. 831Development and a new potion

Yang Yi inspected the newly opened Commercial Street, then visited Su Na's Laboratory to see the results of her research. He drank a new potion that altered his constitution, but its full effects remained unclear.

  • Yang Yi suggested building a mobile fortress to protect the One-Eye Grand Church, and the architects completed a design that included a robot showroom.
  • The One-Eye Smithy, Su Na's Potion Shop, and the New World Supermarket Center opened, drawing crowds and prompting Yang Yi to take his crew shopping.
  • Su Na summoned Yang Yi to the Laboratory, where he saw that the Vitality Sardine Tree was secured in a cage and the Waste Liquid Slime had been replaced by a dangerous substitute.
  • Su Na gave Yang Yi a hero-quality potion made from Wind Fly flesh and blood that could increase resistance to wind and gravity.
  • Yang Yi drank the potion and felt his body sink before becoming light, as if he were floating.

Ch. 832Dissecting the Blind Believers

Yang Yi received the Unstable Mass ability and learned about three new potions Su Na had developed. Su Na dissected the Blind Believers and concluded they were dependent on their goddess for both life and thought, leaving them likely to die if their connection to her was severed.

  • Yang Yi struggled to control his changing body weight after taking the Mass Potion, while Su Na advised him to practice.
  • Su Na showed Yang Yi Rusting, Sakura, and Crystallizing Potions, and Yang Yi decided to sell them for five million Conch Coins each.
  • Su Na gave Yang Yi four bottles of each potion and revealed that she had dissected the Blind Believers, including a player.
  • Su Na explained that most Blind Believers' organs had rotted away because their goddess's blessing sustained them, making them fragile without her.
  • Su Na showed Yang Yi the Radiant Archbishop's preserved brain and sensory organs, explaining that the goddess's image was branded into them and that the Blind Believers' minds had been destroyed.

Ch. 833Surging darkness

Yang Yi learned to control his changing weight, then discovered the darkness spreading across the sea and Black Shadows converging on Steam Island. After the island escaped the horde, the increased activity and numbers of the shadows were revealed to be a Sea of No Light-wide event.

  • Yang Yi learned to increase or decrease his weight by tensing or relaxing and planned to scout Corpse Island as Mars's memories deteriorated.
  • A seaquake shook Steam Island for nearly five minutes, and Su Na observed that the sea level seemed to have risen.
  • Yang Yi flew high above the island and spotted spreading darkness and enormous Large Black Shadows approaching.
  • Yang Yi warned the players, who used Light Containers and upgraded Land Combat Guards to drive back the Black Shadows.
  • Su Na advised lowering the light and retreating, and Yang Yi ordered players inside before Steam Island escaped the surrounding horde three hours later.

Ch. 834Surging Darkness II

After the seaquake and the system’s warning that players had to occupy ten Player Islands before the third seaquake, representatives on Steam Island discussed how to respond. They agreed to accelerate their conquests rather than retreat to other seas, and Qin Ming invited players to occupy Mirror Island.

  • The seaquake breached Green Island’s ecological containment wall, but the New World Fleet contained the outbreak and treated the infected casualties with Herbicide.
  • The system announced that the Sea of No Light had become more dangerous and that players had to occupy ten Player Islands before the third seaquake or face failure.
  • Su Na and Zhao Tie argued that the world was changing and the system’s warning should be taken seriously, while Yang Yi agreed that players had to conquer islands faster.
  • Rome proposed retreating to safer seas, but Su Na warned that seaquakes could affect those waters too and urged players to focus on occupying islands.
  • After the meeting, Qin Ming posted the conditions for occupying Mirror Island and invited all players to join the effort.

Ch. 835Mirror Island opens

Yang Yi and Su Na discussed the risks of Mirror Island and decided to visit when its Portal opened. There, Qin Ming greeted Yang Yi, who began to suspect that the scarred, one-eyed warrior was a mirror duplicate, but Qin Ming insisted he was genuine.

  • Yang Yi read the Mirror Island rules and learned that Qin Ming had earned the individual key while no team had reached a hundred consecutive wins.
  • Su Na reasoned that challengers might have to defeat mirror copies of themselves, and she and Yang Yi agreed to visit the island.
  • Yang Yi continued preparing a post about other islands and planned to explore Burning Island after Corpse Island.
  • Three days later, Qin Ming arrived through the Portal at Steam Island's Teleportation Plaza, and his talking shield's Long-Legged Sardine mocked Yang Yi for being bald.
  • Qin Ming greeted Yang Yi and said their past fight might have killed him, prompting Su Na to ask whether he was a mirror duplicate.
  • Qin Ming removed his Helmet, revealed his scarred face and replacement eye, and insisted that he was the genuine Qin Ming.

Ch. 836Mirror Island I

Yang Yi and his companions traveled to Mirror Island to investigate the Mirror Tower, while players gathered there to explore and ice-fish. After discovering that the tower’s interior was a vast crystal hall lined with challenge mirrors, Yang Yi led his team into one together.

  • Qin Ming arrived on Steam Island, and Su Na questioned whether he was the same Qin Ming they had met before.
  • Yang Yi, Su Na, Cui Xiya, Cui Bisi, and Xiaoji traveled to Mirror Island despite Cui Xiya’s misgivings and prepared for the extreme cold.
  • Yang Yi saw other players on the island, including Anglers who had come to ice-fish, and led his companions toward the Mirror Tower.
  • Yang Yi and Su Na found that the tower’s interior was far larger than its exterior and contained thousands of mirrors that offered challenges.
  • Cui Xiya reluctantly brought out the Super Great Blasphemer Mech, and Yang Yi gathered his companions and entered a mirror with Su Na.

Ch. 837Mirror Island II

Yang Yi and his group waited inside the mirror while the Mirror Tower expelled pairs of nearly identical Players, who fought until Qiqi calmed them. The group was transferred to a wooded island for their first battle, where a long-haired double of Yang Yi attacked him.

  • Yang Yi suggested breaking the mirrors, but Su Na warned that they might be trapped inside and told the group to wait.
  • A giant shattered mirror in a hidden room displayed Players’ battles, then began showing Yang Yi’s group as other Players were expelled from mirrors in nearly identical pairs.
  • Qiqi used her voice to stop the twin Players from fighting, while He Qi arrived and surveyed the chaos.
  • Yang Yi’s group waited as progress stalled at 77%, then watched it reach 100% and received a countdown to their first battle.
  • The group was transferred to a wooded island, where a long-haired man resembling Yang Yi charged out of the woods and swung a Wrought-Iron Club at him.

Ch. 838Everyone in their various forms, part one

Yang Yi, Su Na, Cui Xiya, Cui Bisi, and Xiaoji fought mirror-image opponents, with Xiaoji and Yang Yi’s side scoring the first kills. The battles left the mirror-image forces badly defeated, though Xiaoji’s battlefield remained littered with enemy machines.

  • Yang Yi fought a belligerent, club-wielding version of himself while Su Na intercepted an arrow from a hidden archer and Cui Xiya’s mech shrugged off attacks from mirror versions of Cui Xiya and Cui Bisi.
  • Xiaoji destroyed a spherical robot with its blue beam, then came under a missile barrage as more enemy robots joined the battle.
  • Bald Yang Yi caught Handsome Yang Yi’s iron club with a fiery hand and killed him with a greatsword strike.
  • Su Na survived a volley of arrows with her armor beneath her clothes, then killed the mirror-image Su Na when she approached.
  • Cui Xiya and Cui Bisi trapped their opponents with chains and fed them into the mech, while Xiaoji stood amid the wreckage of the robots it had destroyed.

Ch. 839Everyone in Their Various Forms, Part Two

Yang Yi and the others returned to the Mirror Tower after defeating their mirror images, and Yang Yi investigated the battlefield’s possible boundary. They learned the rules and rewards for continuing the challenge, while outside, players feared that Mirror People could replace them; Yang Yi’s group chose to press on toward the Mirror Key.

  • The five survivors regrouped, collected loot from their mirror images, and entered the Mirror High Tower as the battlefield began to disappear.
  • Yang Yi ran across the water to test whether the battlefield had a boundary, fired a bullet into the distance, and returned with only a possible sign of a boundary wall.
  • The tower announced the rules for the second round, restored the survivors’ condition, and revealed that Stubborn Iron (Mirror) was worth 1,800 points.
  • Yang Yi and Su Na discussed how mirror images might have systems and could replace players, while Su Na wondered whether the trials selected among different possibilities.
  • In the real world, players retreated from the tower and grew wary of Mirror People who shared their Player IDs, but Yang Yi’s group decided to continue the challenge and seek a Mirror Key.

Ch. 840Everyone in their various forms, part two

Yang Yi and his team easily defeated weaker alternate versions of themselves until the seventieth round brought formidable opponents, including a Paladin Yang Yi and giant Light Fairy versions of Cui Xiya and Cui Bisi. As the battle began, Su Na and the others were trapped by another Su Na’s underwater whirlpool while Yang Yi confronted the Paladin.

  • Bald Yang Yi killed Glasses Yang Yi’s team with long-range Flintlock shots, and his team reached 2,200 points after the victory.
  • Qin Ming returned to Mirror Island as Ice Nest Worms were exterminated, then noticed cracks spreading across the Mirror Tower.
  • Yang Yi’s team advanced through many rounds and encountered a Paladin version of Yang Yi whose slash destroyed an iceberg.
  • Giant Light Fairy versions of Cui Xiya and Cui Bisi attacked the team with a Rain of Light Arrows and a massive hammer.
  • Yang Yi engaged Paladin Yang Yi while Su Na led the others underwater, where a nun-clad Su Na summoned a whirlpool to trap them.
