Before long, Taiyi Overlord returned, looking slightly sheepish.
Overlords of the Space-Time River lineage excelled at preserving their lives, and their escape techniques were not actually slow, either.
But Overlord Extreme Nether had played every trump card while fleeing for his life. In the end, he had shaken off Taiyi Overlord's pursuit, leaving him to return empty-handed.
Li Xian, however, showed little blame.
In most cases, when an Overlord was determined to flee, even a stronger Overlord would struggle to stop them, unless they belonged to the World Lineage, which excelled at sealing and suppression, the Heaven's Mandate Lineage, which targeted the will, or specialized in speed.
"It's fine. Let's deal with these four Overlords first."
Li Xian spoke.
"Do you need any help?"
"No."
Li Xian said, "Killing an Overlord isn't the most cost-effective option. Their treasures and stockpiles are what matter. With us holding the cleaver and them lying on the chopping block, I imagine these Overlords will make the right choice."
Taiyi Overlord nodded at that. "Indeed. In most cases, unless there's a genuine blood feud or tempers have truly flared, Overlords won't strike to kill over a mere clash of interests."
After saying that, he looked Li Xian up and down.
He hesitated to speak.
Only after a good while did he finally ask, "You gained something more in the Xuanhuang Universe... Have you already entered the ranks of top-tier Overlords?"
"Top-tier Overlords..."
Li Xian had never seen a true top-tier Overlord, after all, and did not know exactly what level Taiyi meant by that.
