Elliot looked at the Difference Engine's interface, puzzled for a moment.
"What's Victoria standing there spacing out for?"
From his side, after Victoria had taken control of the Flagon, she had gone outside to look around, then returned and stood there in a daze ever since.
She had been spacing out for so long that Elliot began to worry, wondering whether the Flagon had some sort of mind-control ability that had frozen her in place.
At last, Victoria seemed to figure something out and began talking to herself.
[It seems the Great Being here has mistaken me for His Believer!]
[Then I'll just pretend to be His Believer!]
Then, to Elliot's shock, Victoria actually began praying on the spot:
[Please bestow a bookcase upon me! I need a bookcase!]
[Please bestow a bookcase upon me! I need a bookcase!]
Elliot hesitated for a while, but ultimately decided not to respond.
He did not know much about the Abode or Great Beings-at least, not as much as Victoria did.
The more he said, the more mistakes he might make. It would be trouble if he gave himself away.
He might as well simply play dead.
Still, he rummaged through the [Dream Memories] Cards, found a bookcase Card, and placed it in a room not far from the Washroom Victoria was in.
If she happened to find it, he would let her take it. That did not count as responding.
Then Elliot's gaze fell on the Flagon in Victoria's hand, and he grew thoughtful.
Was this actually a [Relic]?
Maeve had followed a Believer's corpse all the way into a dream, and had even turned into a [Relic]?
This made Elliot question what [Relics] really were.
"Relics... could they really be things left behind after a living being dies?"
