Elliot watched Dorothea and Maeve's experiment on the Difference Engine, clicking his tongue in wonder.
"You wouldn't have guessed it, but Dorothea has quite a broad range of ideas."
The combination she used had overcome almost all their weaknesses.
Maeve's advantage was her sheer strength: she could take hits and dish them out. But her weakness was her lack of mobility and her large size. On a battlefield, she would inevitably be watched closely and could easily be pinned down.
Dorothea had [Mirror Secret Art] for rapid movement, but she had little combat ability herself and was very fragile.
Her mirror was also conspicuous and extremely easy to detect once infused with spirituality. If the enemy set a trap specifically for her, she could easily step into it and find herself unable to get out.

First, they could enter the fray directly from an extremely long distance, allowing Maeve to charge straight into the largest crowd and use [Blood Cocoon].

Dorothea's fragility had also been addressed. After stepping out of a mirror, she needed a moment to stabilize her form. Put simply, her skill had recovery lag that left her stuck standing in place.
That had originally been a bad thing. Standing still made her a sitting duck. The enemy could ready an attack and strike the instant her body became solid.
But now things were different. She couldn't move, but Maeve could!
Maeve could form a blood cocoon on the spot, its walls of flesh blocking damage for Dorothea so that she need not fear incoming attacks when she appeared a moment later.
