At the other end of the passage.
Maeve's battered backside had grown back, giving off a mouthwatering aroma.
Yet no monsters came to attack.
Her backside had not even touched the ground. It floated in midair along with the rift.
It was not that her backside had risen into the sky, but that the entire seabed was collapsing downward.
Arms had stretched out of the original seabed to attack her backside, but now those countless arms had all sunk.
They still reached upward, but even the longest could not reach Maeve's backside overhead, let alone the monsters that had evolved.
Only one stone-throwing monster could occasionally fling a few stones up there. They bounced a few times off her backside before falling away, doing no harm.
Suddenly, Maeve's backside began struggling overhead, as though in extreme pain.
Before long, with a pop, her entire body was pushed out!
A tentacle sprang out behind her. Clearly, it had just pushed hard enough to dislodge the stuck Maeve!
"Eek!"
Maeve shrieked. She had not expected to be up in the air either, and before she could react, she was falling.
Looking at the huge hands below, all stretching straight up toward her, Maeve's backside clenched, and she began struggling frantically.
Fortunately, this was not really the sky but the seabed, so she did not fall quite so fast.
The Nightmare tentacle in the passage curled around her and pulled her back up.
Then several heads poked out of the passage, looking down at the sunken seabed.
"What's going on?"
"No idea... how did we end up in midair?"
"We didn't rise. Look into the distance. The seabed here has sunk!"
"The seabed... sank? How is that possible?"
"How would I know..."
The Believers began talking over one another.
Held in the tentacle's
